The only thing possibly better than the food is the service. Greeted like a queen ( was dressed like a beach bum)! Service with a smile and a hustle.\r When you are treated so wonderfully, everything is better. We sat outside and the view of Pt. Loma and the sailboats was so lovely.\r Had the salmon and it was really tasty. Along with a hamburger, yummy!\r Highly recommend! more

Some of my favorite grilled seafood 9/18/2010

Great Grill restaurant. I had a grilled wild salmon here and it was one of the best I have ever had. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes they offer. more

Best food in Shelter Island 6/19/2010

I know of this place thanks to a co-worker of mine who used to work here...He's now in Heaven, but I know everytime I visit the Blue Wave he's looking down on me. Incredible food, excellent drinks and the prices are a bargain considering the location--- Shelter Island is one of the best places to admire the skyline at night..The staff is friendly and attentive. I'd recommend this place to family and friends. Also if you are thinking of having a party, the Blue Wave will be the perfect place...elegant, refined but comfortable enough to wear casual clothes, especially if you are seating on the patio...You'll think you are somewhere on vacation eating in an European restaurant --think of the French Riviera--Cheers! more

Excellent Views 10/20/2008

Excellent water front dining over looking the marina. Romantic atmosphere for any event! Great food with wonderful service! Reasonable prices and beautiful sunsets! more

A great place to stop for the evening. The service was excellent but, the views were amazing. Sitting out on the patio is the best place to dine. The food is great too. more

The Food is Better Than the View... 10/25/2006

and the view is a must see! One of the best kept secrets in San Diego. I would recommend having a mojito at the bar, then moving on to dinner on the patio! Great views of the harbor from the patio and a dining room with casual elegance. Try the Macadamia crusted Halibut and the Mussels and Clams! The Blue Wave is nice enough for special occasions and reasonable enough to become a regular! PROS: Food, Drinks, Service CONS: more

Blue Wave has a great bar, a perfect happy hour, lots of free parking and a view of the harbor! The nachos are amazing! And lots of tv's for all sports all the time. more
