Blue Lotus is a special place. It holds whatever you bring to it. It has held all that I have brought thus far and it is always there welcoming you back after a stint away. I have had many great experiences here: Drumming and dancing at potlucks. Front desk impromtu funky dance parties. I have seen a roomful of students reach handstand despite the vast diversity and experience levels! Perhaps some of the most cherished moments have been those during workshops and teacher trainings when you get to spend several hours together...to really slow down. There are those moments together in the quiet. Thanks to all who make Blue Lotus and thanks the Raleigh yoga community of which we are a part. more

Wish I lived next door! 7/25/2011

I have attended classes at the blue for about a year. I live about 20 miles from there so each visit is not only a joyful experience, it's also an adventure. I typically don't venture out too far from home for yoga, but a trip to the blue is always a blessing and well worth the commute. The studio is beautiful and well-maintained. The variety of classes offered make the blue the perfect studio for just about everyone. The instructors are both friendly and professional and Jill is truly an inspriation! more

The best...and i've been to them all... 7/25/2011

In search of a yoga home in the triangle, I found blue lotus, where every instructor I have had has made me feel welcome. I immediately gravitated to their inclusive teaching style and accepting spirit. Every now and then I look around and shop for other yoga spaces, but always end up back at the blue. The owner, Jill is such an inspiration of light and peace. more

A beautiful space with many inspiring teachers and teaching styles. A must for those visiting or living in Raleigh who wish to begin or grow their yoga practice. Something sweet for all levels. more

Love the Blue! 7/25/2011

This is a warm, welcoming space. The smiling faces of the ""peeps"" who greet you as you enter, the variety of classes offered, and most especially the talented teachers make this studio special. Novice yoga students as well as those experienced yogis looking for a little spice can find what they need at the Blue. If you come at the right time, you may even get to meet Padma, the sweetest little yoga dog ever! more

not impressed 2/21/2011

This is a beautiful studio, I've attended two classes with two different instructors. The first instructor was competent and personable, yet she did not seem to connect with students. The second instructor was much more concerned with her own practice than working with students. She did not leave her mat during the entire class, nor did she make eye contact at all Very disappointed. I would not attend classes here again. more

Great Studio, Instructors & Experience 3/2/2010

Attended the Monday night, Flow & Stretch class. Awesome. The studio was very nice, calm and quiet... Just how it should be! The class was great, instructor was well qualified and just like a good instructor, focused on student adjustments instead of her own practice. Great studio & experience. By the looks of the Monday night class I attended, it is a much-loved studio by many. I traveled from out of town and the studio had mats to borrow, which was nice for those who travel. You can schedule/pay online, too, very convenient. more

Yoga Home Sweet Home 11/17/2009

There is so much I could say about the blue, like how I consider it my 2nd home, but instead I'll use words that come to mind when I think of Blue Lotus: Safe Inviting Warm Playful Laughter Community Gentle Challenging Friends Life-changing Inspiring I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Come join us! Pros: Excellent, inspiring teachers; energy of the space more

This is fantastic yoga! 11/4/2009

This is a community, not just a place to practice yoga. All of the instructors are wonderful and bring something special to every class. I always feel like part of something great when I walk through the door. Pros: Wonderful teachers and guidance, playful environment Cons: NONE! more

Yoga Heaven 11/4/2009

I knew I was home the instant I stepped into the studio. You can tell when someone's put their heart and spirit into something and it's so very obvious when you step into the ""Blue."" There is such a warm and comforting feeling when you walk in the door and it just gets better from there. There are so many different types of classes that anyone from the newbie yogi to the more advanced student can find a class that they love. Even more important than that I think is the community of students at the Blue... there is really a sense of family in each class that you take. Makes ALL the difference. Pros: great teachers, great classes, awesome boutique Cons: need more of it all! more

Wonderful haven in downtown Raleigh 11/4/2009

The Blue Lotus is my all time favorite yoga studio. The instructors are all very professional and I never worry about trying new things because of the supportive environment. The carefully planned classes always help you to be ready for the next pose and transitions from posture to posture flow seamlessly. I wish I lived closer and could go every day! It has become one of those ""special"" places that I just sort of sigh and relax as soon as I come in the door! Pros: Outstanding instruction, supportive atmosphere more

A true sanctuary 9/5/2008

The ""blue"" is a place that has made my move to Raleigh a true transformation in my life. The instructors care about each student in class. It is obvious that each teacher puts a great deal of thought into their class and music . There is a tremendous diversity in classes for the beginner to the life long experienced yogi. I like the balance of a challenging class, to a stretch and flow class. We need balance in our lives and the instructors recognize this with the variety of classes and workshops offered to the community. I also find that the students are very welcoming to those who practice often to the newcomers. I could not balance my life without my classes at bluelotus. Thank you Jill and instructors for your caring, hands on approach and teaching me to give myself permission to do what my body and mind feels once I get to my mat. You are a ""blessing"" to all of us! more

THE most welcoming yoga studio in the area 9/5/2008

If you are thinking of trying a yoga class, or if you have tried it before but didn't think it was for you-- give blue lotus a shot. There are so many styles and levels of energy required...and you can experience a great number of them here. I agree with the other reviews--this is definitely a welcoming place to explore, and every teacher has something to offer that is unique and challenging in its own way. Yoga means a different experience for everyone, and I think most people will enjoy the experience here. Raleigh lucked out! more

amazing transformation 9/5/2008

there are so many wonderful reasons to visit blue lotus, i could go on for quite awhile. so to keep it simple, i will tell you this: through the instruction of each talented teacher, the practice of the postures, the breath work, the space, the music, and the letting go, you will find there a personal sanctuary and an amazing transformation of body, mind & soul like no other. i have experienced many avenues of wellness over the years, but nothing compares to being an active member of the blue lotus community. it has forever changed my life and i am exactly where i want to be. Pros: multiple more

A yoga studio with heart and soul 9/4/2008

The atmosphere in Blue Lotus is warm and welcoming; this is a special studio where practitioners at all levels can feel supported and challenged. Teachers are very talented and utilize music in the classes in very creative ways. Regular members like myself keep coming back for more- in addition to a great variety of classes , workshops are offered on a regular basis which allow you to expand your horizons through music, dance and yoga. This is a serious studio which doesn't take itself too seriously! People have fun while stretching their minds and bodies. As one of my favorite teachers says, ""Come play!"" more
