On January 3rd at 3pm. my 21 year old daughter had a flat tire and pulled into their parking lot. She had left our house in Chicago that morning and was three miles from her home on campus. We are members of AAA, but they had a three hour wait time, so she went inside and asked if someone could help her change her tire. Whoever was working that day told her that he was not dressed properly and would not help her. Now, this goes beyond anything I have ever experienced. We called the Dayton police who came out and helped her, but the folks who work at Bls Trucking should rename their business BS Trucking Inc. more

BLS is the WORST company to ever work for. RUN 3/17/2011

I use to work in the Tennessee market as a driver for this company. It ain't even about the radegy trucks, equipment, no raises, none of that. For me, its about the hillbilly they got working as the driver manager. This dude is so lazy and he disappears for days at a time while his drivers are FORCED to work 12 -14 hour shifts. He shows up in the afternoon and FORCES his drivers to run errands and get trucks fixed (which is his job), while he messes off the entire day. This guy puts the ""L"" in lazy and his work rolls down hill to the drivers. When his boss comes to town, he's a different person. He runs around like a robot working till he sweats. But the minute the boss leaves, back to the couch this dude goes. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how a manager for anything can be allowed to manage so poorly and continue to get away with it. He has shown on numerous occasions his inability to manage people. He can barely run his own life and people are FORCED, everyday, to allow him to manage their time. Everything you read in these reviews are true about this company. When I worked for them, I really didn't have a problem with the other stuff as most of them were pretty dumb anyway so, it wasn't hard getting out of most of the stuff they tried to make you pay for. Communication is the key here. BLS, communicate with your drivers. Instead of slamming them all the time, ask them about the problems they have. You don't have anyone on-site watching the managers you have in place and trust me, they need to be watched too. And also, please start screening your managers better. You screen the drivers but do you screen the managers? This guy is on the 'Sex Offenders"" list for God's Sake. 2 separate counts, several years apart so, he's got a problem for sure. He should not be allowed to get in trucks and go to people homes without them knowing this about him. There are laws in place for this kinda stuff. Yet you employ him, send him around people's children and wives without them knowing about him. This is wrong. Shape up BLS. Shape up............ more

BLS trucking rotten to the core! The REAL True BLS Trucking 10/19/2010

Nice try Zimmet. You are sitting in an office doing nothing but making everybody's life miserable and LOVING it when you can be a big shot and get somebody fired or steal their paycheck. And the minimum wage for the last paycheck, real smooth! I know for a fact you have been in trouble for that before but you always lie your way out. Any outfit that makes employees pay for anything that goes wrong while doing the functions of your job is crap. 84 lumber is the only business you have. They probably won't dump you because you make your divers do dangerous crap to please them. But who cares, pack a 100 pound window up a muddy plank by yourself and slip and fall and break the window, you get to buy it. If a driver one time refuses to buy something like that they are terminated. If 84 lumber backs you up and tries to talk BLS out of stealing your paycheck, the driver is terminated. BLS is afraid if one driver sticks up for themselves or 84 takes up for an employee, they may be asked again not to take a drivers money. So the employee is tossed aside like yesterday's trash. Then they tell unemployment the classic, misuse, destroying, or vandalizing company property to get you denied benefits! Then they either keep your last paycheck or pay you minimum wage for it. Then your life is ruined because it don't matter that for YEARS you were there on time and worked long hours and bailed BLS out time and time again when other drivers quit and wouldn't pay for everything , all that matters now is it don't look good on paper. Now the rest of your life is over. And many times after an incident they will tell you that everyting is fine and then decide a month later you are paying. So pay up now or get threw out on the street. Zimmet sure sounds like an innocent little angel in his cocking-bull write up here. BLS cares NOTHING about employees or anybody else. Who wants to deal with this crap everyday? Just knowing you have bills to pay and one little thing will cause you to be canned, denied unemployent, possibly lose everything you have worked for and never again have suitable employment keeps you tied in knots for years! If you are there 20 years and one little thing I have described happens, you're history. No matter how long you are there, get laid off more than 30 days, you are a brand new employee when you are called back. They don't lay off by seniority either. They keep around the ones who suck up and lay off the ones who do the work! Zimmet wishes these reviews were handled more professionally and really regrets any past employee being unhappy. What a load of crap! The truth hurts don't it! Go work for BLS and good ole Josh Zimmet. Pay for any little operating cost or thing that might go wrong. Pay for extra fuel when they decide your truck idled too long. Stick around 3 hours after work for UNPAID mandatory driver meetings. Pay BLS $50 fines for getting a ticket after you already paid the ticket. Have to lie about running over hours all the time. If you ever do work for BLS and know you are going to be terminated, (and you will know), keep every log you have filled out and get all the past ones you can because you will have to fight when they screw you out of your last paycheck! The daily log is the only proof! Go out to 84's jobsite with no driveway after a week of rain. It is so nasty you can't walk. You have to get in and out anyway, not get stuck and not get mud on the road. If you get stuck, you get to pay to be pulled out. That happens all the time. That will come out of your pay also, who cares BLS ain't paying! I really like the line in Zimmet's write up about apologizing for unsatisfactory employment and wishing you the best, what a crock! I don't know how Zimmet and Foster can sleep at night being such sleezeballs! That is the real BLS. BLS rotten to the core and the place of 100% profit for the company and 100% of the crap for the hard working individuals working for them. more

The True BLS Trucking 10/19/2010

Thank you for your interest in BLS Trucking, Inc. I am surprised at some of the reviews that I am finding and wish that these were handled on a more professional level. A lack of communication tends to be the breakdown in many bad situations, and we have processes in place to handle any sort of issues that any employee has in any situation. I challenge that any of these processes were followed properly in any of these bad situations. more

Worst company ever highway robbery 4/23/2010

THIS COMPANY IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST BETRAYFUL COMPANY EVER I WOULD THINK CAUSE IF THERE IS WORSE THEY SHOULD BE BEHIND BARS JUST LIKE THIS PLACE SHOULD BE. HOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH WHAT THEY DO IS BEYOND ME. JUST LIKE THIS HERE FUDGING ALL EMPLOYEES HOURS TO SAY THEY DID NOT WORK OVER 12 HOURS IN A DAY TO NOT PAY A D.O.T FINE. WELL NEWS FOR THAT ON MY HALF I KEPT ALL MY ORIGINAL PAPER WORK AND GONNA TURN IT IN TO D.O.T AND LIST ALL PEOPLE INVOLVED THAT TOLD ME TO DO SO. NOT TO WRITE OVER 12 HOURS IN A DAY. CAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT THE INVOICE THAT TELLS THE HOURS AND IF THE DAILY LOG DON'T MATCH UP WITH THAT HUUMM WELL HOW DID THIS GET INVOICED AND THIS DRIVER WAS OFF THE CLOCK. THEY PAY NO OVERTIME I WORKED 115 HOURS IN 2 WEEKS AND MY 22.25 PERCENT DIVIDED INTO THE HOURS COME OUT TO 5.73 PER HOUR ISN'T THAT BELOW MINIMUM WAGE. WELL I'M GONNA CALL OUT ALL I KNOW TO WHOM CAN DO SOMETHING BOUT THIS PLACE Pros: no pros at all i thought so at first but when smoke cleared Cons: LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE about everything more

poorly managed company 3/25/2009

This company has the worst management ever. How can one company could have so managers and still be so poorly ran? One issue may be the exceptionally low pay given to employees(can't get quality if you don't pay for it!). Instead of paying for GPS why don't they start working on paying enough to get skilled staff. The owner of this company should be ashamed of himself for being such a rober barron and riding on the backs of his low paid employees to make a profit. How this man can sleep at night knowing he pays below a living wage to his staff is disheartening to say the least. And how this company can leagally get away with fining his employees for every infraction is beyond me. There is no words to describe how unethically this company is ran. (just because a company can get away with doing something a certain way doesn't mean they should). Cons: cheap! cheap! cheap! more
