Friendliest.Place.Ever. 2/14/2003

The proprieter of The Black Sea is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He makes you feel like an old, welcome friend every time you walk in the door. I would suggest this restaurant(and have) to anybody who is looking for a place to eat. more

The food was good, not amazing, but more than worth the very low prices, the antique copper pots hanging on the wall, and the really hospitable and cute family that runs it. Try the cacik (soup)! more

The food and service were very nice. The cook came over and asked us how we liked the food and how our experience was. Very impressed by the food and the cook/employees. Very pleasant. more

My wife and I dined at Black Sea 6 Oct 2002. We deeply appreciated the smoke free environment. The food was excellent, of good value and served in genrous portions. Provision of a stack of postcards from Turkey for viewing during order preparation was a neat touch. Parking is available behind the restaurant. Pros: smoke free, inexpensive, generous portions more

What a find! 9/23/2002

The food is terrific -- well spiced, fresh ingredients, great mix of flavors. Though the space is pretty crowded, we loved reading the Turkish airlines magazines while we waited for our food. The staff are the nicest, most accommodating people. We've been back, and ordered takeout for a party, and haven't been disappointed. Pros: Great value, rich taste, great people Cons: Not enough seating more
