Davis has earned its title as "America's Best Bicycling City" because of its high volume of bicycle use, its renowned system of bikeways, cyclist friendly facilities and supportive City and University programs. There are over 48 miles of bike lanes and 48 miles of bike paths within city limits - more bikeways per mile of roadway than any other city in the world. Bike paths along greenbelts, in city parks, on campus and along the U.C. Davis Arboretum make bicycling a pleasant leisurely activity with beautiful scenery.
