Big Wheel Bikes

I bought a Breezer Uptown 8 from Big Wheel Bikes on Arlington Road in Bethesda, Maryland on June 2, 2008. I was told the bike would be in the shop by June 6. Between June 7 and June 16, I called the shop multiple times to inquire about when I could pick up the bike. Each time I called I was told the bike had been ordered but no additional information could be provided. I was often promised that someone would call me back, yet I no one ever did. On June 16, I contacted Breezer Bikes only to learn that no bike with the specs I requested had been ordered by Big Wheel Bikes. I subsequently called Big Wheel Bikes to request a refund but was told that even though the order was done by phone, no refund could be provided except in person. This is contrary to the hassle-free return policy that Breezer requires of its dealers. I'm now leaving it up to my credit card company to sort out Big Wheel Bikes. I've reordered the order from City Bikes in Chevy Chase, and I'm urging Breezer to discontinue using Big Wheel Bikes as an authorized dealer. This is the worst experience I've had with a company in a very long time. At minimum, Big Wheel Bikes is incompetently run, but more than likely they're simply con artists. more

It’s a great bike store with a targeted selection of good bikes. However, I felt that the staff there were not very friendly or accommodating. The prices are on the higher end (you certainly won’t find huffys or that sort there), but the quality is very good. Definitely for bikers who want to take it to the next level. more

Big Wheel Bikes deals in all sorts of bikes, and specializes in prior year models and supplier close-outs. They pride themselves on selling high quality bicycles at discount prices to people of all ages and biking-levels. The staff is really knowledgeable and is great about offering their help. Big Wheel Bikes also sells all sorts of accessories and baby joggers. They also have a service department and a skilled team of mechanics. more
