PLEASE READ this before you bring your snowblower or any small engine to Big Kahuny Enterprise, Mound, Minnesota. It will save you from getting burn't from these guys. I recently brought in a snowblower to Big Kahuny Enterprise, (Mound, Minnesota) where the auger stopped engaging. The owner and his technician were very nice when I told them about the snowblower and I addressed the problems associated with it. They told me they could fix the problem and would call me in a few days. I specifically asked that they do not spend any more than $100 dollars on fixing the snow blower and if it did to contact me. Well I left the snowblower there and a week went by before someone contacted me. The technician said, that he had replaced the belt and the snowblower was fixed and it was ready for pick up. After a few minutes, the same technician called me again and said the belt broke when he started it and that he needed more time to fix it. I was okay with that. (it sounded legitimate) Another week went by and then the same technician called me back and said they had replaced the belt 3 more times and that he had spent a lot of time on the snowblower, plus he added that he had cleaned the carbs. He said, I had two options, either I could pay $175 or/ they would keep the snowblower and call it a wash for the time they spent supposedly fixing the snowblower. I told him i would come in a pick up the snow blower. When I arrived to get the snowblower, they took it out from the outside of their shop with snow all over it and the belt cover was removed and sitting on top of the snowblower. (as if they just removed the cover to show they had done some type of work) The owner, was there and he claimed to me that they spent a lot of time working on the snowblower and that it had an internal flaw that made the snowblower useless and worth nothing. He then said, I owe $175 (for a snowblower that was not fixed) or they would take the snowblower and call it a wash... I inspected the snowblower and noticed they there was no way they cleaned the carbs and they merely made it look like they had worked on it. The bolts that you would have to remove to get to the carbs were still rusted on the snowblower. I then asked the owner, that the price and deal they were offering did not seem fair. I also, told him that there was not way they worked on the snowblower, other than just removing the belt cover. The owner, immediately got upset and physically flipped the snowblower upside down in anger. He told me to take and snowblower and leave. I told him if he really did work on it, I would pay him for his work, he walked away and got in his truck and turned his truck facing me. The technician (not knowing what had happened) came out and asked if I had paid. I first asked him to help me lift the snowblower into my truck and then asked him what he really did on the snowblower to fix it. I told him, I didn't believe them that they put any time into fixing the snowblower. He immediately walked over to talk to the owner (who was still watching me in his truck) and then returned claiming I owed him $$$. I claimed my points and showed him that there was not way he cleaned the carbs and that this seemed like a scam. The technician then got right in my face and told me to get the ""f"" out of there. I thought he was going to hit me. I got in my car and left. I have spoken to one other person since that experience that actually got taken for a lot of money and never got their small engine fixed from Big Kahuny Enterprise, Mound, Minnesota. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. more

They are OPEN not closed! Duffy is a down to earth guy and is not out to screw anyone over. On the reviews below with the negativity. Everyone has made mistakes in their work, after you push out several hundred scooters, leaf blowers and lawn mowers! Keep up the good work Duffy! more

This place is a JOKE. Took them a simple scooter tire to be fixed. A week went by no call. Turns out they popped the first one. No biggie. Another week goes by and I stop by. Not done, have not ordered a new tube. 3 more days go by. Not done. So i fetched my tire, rim and some cash for the tube they wrecked. \r \r WISH I COULD HAVE MY 2 WEEKS BACK! more

Had a leaf blower vac worked on last year. Ran for less then half a day. Found out it was more than just a carb rebuild that they did and not well. Started leaking gas that day. They should stick with what they know about instead of charging 65 buck for something that didn't repair the blower/vac. more

Best Engine Repair!! 4/2/2011

We've had three different businesses work on a used snomobile we bought from a dying friend - have spent almost $5000 in repairs over an 8 year period of time and still haven't been able use it for more than a week without it breaking down. UNTIL... we brought it to Big Kahuny!! They fixed it for several hundred dollars instead of thousands, and we've gotten two winters of use out of it instead of days. These guys are magic as far as we are concerned! Not only do they know what they are doing, they do it extremely well, are reliable, and have reasonable prices. What more could anyone ask for? They are the best! more
