Forget $5 footlongs 11/16/2009

Cheap and fast. Fresh baked bread. Not by any means the best vietnamese sandwich. But shoot for Three bucks. who cares. Pros: $3 Banh Mi Cons: You pay for what you get. more

All I can say is....Yummmmm! 3/27/2009

I don't even like sandwiches, but you HAVE to try the #1. \r \r And, be adventurous! Try the green gelatinous desert with beans and coconut in it! Soooo good! \r \r If you're not into Asian tastes/cuisine, just buy some of their fresh made baguettes to take home for sandwiches of your choice. Their bread beats any French bakery I've ever experienced.\r \r If it's your first time, you may feel confused if they ask you if you want the vegetables ""on the side"". Just say no if you plan on eating it soon. \r \r And, order an unusual drink or desert - just to be adventurous. It makes the experience even more tasty! :)\r \r \r \r Pros: GREAT sandwiches. Great French Baguettes. Great everything. more

Great Sandwiches 1/5/2008

I have been there three times this week... The Asian Vegetables sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The prices are great too! A foot long baguette with veggies for $2.50 THAT IS A DEAL! I bought 3 :O Pros: Taste, Bread, and Nice Service Cons: I can't really think of any... maybe it is too yummy... I want MORE! more

Best Baguette .. really is the best baguette (for Vietnamese sandwiches) 8/14/2007

While on a weekend trip to Portland, I was introduced to this great place. This place was so great that I actually went here twice in the span of 24 hours! Although it looks like a chain, this is the only Best Baguette around. The interior resembles a squeaky-clean fast-food joint complete with touch-screens to keep track of orders. Best Baguette is known for their variety in Vietnamese and French-styled sandwiches, but also serves as a bakery (you can find things from croissants to loafs to sweet or sour buns), gelateria, smoothie shop, and Vietnamese desserts shop. I've eaten at quite a few different Vietnamese sandwich joints before, but what I love about this place is how fresh the ingredients are - from the meat to the vegetables and the bread (which is baked on-site and makes quite the difference!). I would recommend the banh mi thit nuong. Smoothies here are delectable and are quite consistent. Also, I had a pate chaud here, and while it was decent, it wasn't great - nothing compared to the sandwiches. The prices run about $2.95 - $3.50 for sandwiches, a great value. Lastly, because the place is so clean, this might be a good place to introduce people to these style of sandwiches who would otherwise never try them due to the dirtiness of other Vietnamese/French delis. Pros: Delicious sandwiches, value, consistency Cons: If there are a lot of customers, the wait can be a little long more
