The Berkshire is the first restaurant I had ever stumbled upon that featured Bacon as the main ingredient. And sure enough, Now that the Berk is out doing it right, more restaurants around the country that are trying to compete are following suit.
Now dont be intimidated or turned off by the bacon...Its not the only thing on the menu, just a focal point. Great atmosphere, food, service and ownership is what really sets this place apart. Walk-ins are welcome anytime but if you have a special event and want to reserve the back room it's no problem.
If I have to suggest one item to get...well I couldnt, so I will suggest two: Meatloaf is absolutely to die for, and the KING (peanut butter, bananas and bacon on a sweet roll) which, oddly enough, Elvis probably would have died for had he been given the opportunity.
Recently opened, the Berkshire is quickly becoming a staple in the surrounding neighborhood and if you give it a chance I am sure that you will be quick to call it your new Peach Pit.
Also, while you're there be sure to say ""Hi"" to the owner Andy and his wife Krissy. Two crazy kids in love doing what they do best...makin' bacon.
