This grand hotel is no longer open and is, as a matter of fact, at the mercy of the City Counsel. Someone was interested in purchasing this Elegant piece of architecture but the City Counsel opposed the purchase. It seems that the interested party was planning to turn this beautiful place with so many wonderful memories into a low income housing project. That would have destroyed the grandure, and elegance of this old place. I haven't heard lately if there are any plans in the works for this place but I sure do hope that someone will revive it and make it a place of elegance once again. more

Beautiful, old, Hotel 3/30/2006

The Hotel Bentley is no longer open for business but in the past it was the epitome of Grandeur. It is an elegant piece of architecture. This place was the setting for all of our High School BALLS in the 50's and 60's and probably long before that. I loved going into this hotel. It always made me feel like royalty. The lobby was absolutely gorgeous and it made you feel magical. Although it is no longer open for business, the Hotel Bentley is on the market for sale. There has been stories about it being renovated into "low income" housing which would definitely destroy the entire "ambiance" of this eloquent establishment. Someone with vision and love of architecture should purchase this place and make it come to life again. more
