First, let me say that my expectations were not met with this establishment. I expected more of a large, she-she poo-poo experience based on the area/location. To the contrary, the outside is charming and small, similar to a cottage out of place besides such giant shopping plaza's with gourmet grocery foods, an extremely busy intersection, and new restaurants booming nearby (when changing into my robe, I could hear the horns blowing outside and busy traffic-but the noise was soon drowned out by music in treatment room and hallway). On my arrival, I was warmly greeted by a male receptionist (not so out of the ordinary anymore) who offered to take my coat for me and served me a delicious cup of calming tea--(albeit a small dixie cup and I would have much preferred a real teacup, which I later found were kept in the changing parlor room). The atmosphere-dark with slight flickering candle lighting effect as well as real candles, the music is soothing, it was like another world upstairs in this quaint little area;stark contrast to the downstairs bright cream decor. After relaxing foot soak, my sense of smell was invigorated. With eyes closed and the encouragement to take deep relaxing breaths, I was asked to choose 1 of 3 scents that I favored most. The scent I chose was used during my Stone Fusion message which was excellent!! My masseuse "Tiffany" was superb and her method of massage was rhythmic. She seemed to synchronize her technique in time with the music playing softly through the wall speakers. At times, I almost wanted to open my eyes to see how the young woman I just met now seemed to have more than 2 hands. Without losing a step, without any pauses, she would suddenly add the hot stones into the massage. It really showed that she enjoys her work and is a master at it who's goal it is to make the customer melt "like butta". Job well done-you definitely succeeded!! Downside?-the sales pitch after such a relaxing experience to buy Aveda products.
Pros: Tiffany was great, very rhythmic technique, loved Stone Fusion massage!! Appeals to all the senses.
Cons: Sales pitch at the end of a relaxing, stress-reducing massage to purchase Aveda products & paper dixie cups for tea.
