Beaumont Vision John R. Lewis

Dr. Lewis and the entire team at Beaumont Vision have always taken great care of my eyes and all my glasses/contact needs. After 5 years, I finally took the plunge on a new set of frames and am thrilled with my new glasses. Beaumont Vision even alerted me to features of my insurance coverage that allowed me to get a second set of frames for at a discount, so now I have two sets of awesome glasses! \r \r I'll be going back to Beaumont Vision for all my eye care needs and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone. more

Dr. Lewis is a fine dr. and I saw him multiple times. However his office staff is less than exemplary and has made a complete mess of billing. They have been very impolite and unhelpful and have drug out, what should have been a very straightforward and simple billing situation, for over a year and a half! I had coverage when I went to see Dr. Lewis on March 31, 2012. They billed the wrong insurance company over and over again and ended up sending me to collections, even though the mistake was entirely theirs. By doing so they were (and still are) in breach of their insurance contract.\r \r I continued to communicate with them and my insurance company every 30-45 days about the situation and was still sent to collections, as though I'd been uncooperative and unresponisve. Neither I or the insurance company has heard from Dr. Lewis directly. I worked with the insurance to reopen the claim and allow them to resubmit and as of Oct 14, 2013 the claim was paid. However, they haven't processed the check and have still not removed the collection notice. According to them they haven't had time to go through the mail!!! I'm shocked at the incompetence and lack of assistance I've received from them in this manner. \r \r I would NEVER recommend Beaumont Vision because of the nightmare they've put me through. more

This is a real gem in Beaumont Village! Dr. Lewis and his staff saved me from hours in the emergency room and having to miss a day of work. I was pulling my tomato plants out of the ground in late October, and flung a dirt clod into my eye. (Ouch!) Turned out I gave myself a corneal abrasion. Dr. Lewis' partner diagnosed and treated me on my lunch break, and Dr. Lewis did my follow up visit on my lunch break a couple days later. The doctors are meticulous in examining the eyes and kind and concerned about outcomes. The exams are much more thorough than any I have any where else in my life, and the educational component is empowering. Beaumont Vision is not just about glasses, though they do a great job with them. Significantly they serve our community as a source of primary eye care in an immediate way as my situation illustrated. The staff is great also. I feel SO fortunate to have this great business in my community. more

Dr. Lewis gave a great exam and was very thorough. He took the time to explain several things and made it an educational experience. The staff is awesome. I thought I'd try a new place since I'd been to Lenscrafters last year. No one referred me - I just went in because this practice is in my neighborhood. I was very disappointed with the person who helped me with the insurance. I was told that they accepted my insurance when I called to make the appointment and then discovered after the exam that I would have to pay out of pocket because they don't bill that particular insurance company! The receptionist also failed to warn me that I would be dilated so when I had to leave to go back to the office, I could barely see AND it was a very sunny day so those ugly cheap sunglasses they give you didn't help much at all. Dr. Lewis is not a warm and fuzzy guy either. He's all business and although he answered my questions, he seems cold and distant. I didn't buy glasses there and wouldn't go back. I've been wearing glasses and contacts most of my life and have had many doctors over the years. Dr. Lewis impressed me right from the start. This was probably the most thorough exam I've ever had. Dr. Lewis really took his time and explained everything he was doing. I never felt rushed and he did tests I've never had done before. He seems to really care more for the heath of my eyes, than just the prescription for contacts. I think that was ultra important. Prescriptions change but not many take the time to really make sure you have healthy eyes. He made well reasoned recommendations and was able to answers questions about my eyes that no one has quite managed to give a satisfactory answer. His assistants were very knowledgeable about glasses and even give good advice on style. Over all, it was the best eye exam I've had. I left there feeling great about not only my glasses and contacts, but also about the health of my eyes. I will be recommending him to everyone Pros: Thorough exam, answered every question. I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of going to the eye doctor. I often feel like I have been rushed out of the office with a prescription that I am going to have to live with for year that might not be exactly what is right for me. This was not my experience with Dr. Lewis. If I had the slightly doubt about which lens provided the best correction, he made sure that we spent the time to identify the proper choice. The office staff is very friendly and professional. My wife has also seen Dr. Lewis for contacts/glasses and had a great experience. From beginning to end, this was a terrific overall experience. The exam was thorough--not the typical factory--and I learned a few new things about my eyes that I never heard before. I received great service from the entire office staff and I have already sent a few of my friends. The office is new and sleek and very comfortable--check it out! Someone put a lot of good thought into that place, including their frames; I had to finally choose from about a dozen that I wanted. If you're tired of the same ol' run-of-the-mill place (like me) and don't want to wait forever and be treated like a number (like me) then you should check out these guys.
