I WAS A EMPLOYEE FOR JOHN GRUB'S BEAR TIRE & AUTO. AND WHEN MY NEW EMPLOYER ASK FOR MY REFERENCES OF EMPLOYMENT Mr.JOHN GRUB LIE ABOUT MY EMPLOYMENT AS A TOW TRUCK DRIVER. HE GAME ME A VERY VERY BAD REVIEW I WAS SURPRISE ALL THE LIE THAT HE PUT IN THAT PAPER AND FAX IT TO MY NEW EMPLOYER. BUT LET MAKE IT CLEAR I GOT THE JOB ;) !!!!! And when I was he employee I took a MY car to fix there I got legally robed. I ask MR. JOHN GRUB THAT HOW MUCH MUCH IT WI LL COST ME TO REPLACE THE ENGINE HE ANSWER ME LIKE THIS; DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT I WILL TAKE CARE OF U !!!! OH WAO!!!! BIG MISTAKE.I WENT MY SELF TO PHILLY AND GOT A USED ENGINE THAT COST ME $700 TO BE REPLACE TOOK IT TO HIS SHOP. HE REPLACE THE ENGINE WHEN THE BILL CAME I WAS SURPRISE COULD BELIEVE MY EYE.HE CHARGE ME HIS EMPLOYEE $1,500FOR LABOR FOR a small 4 cylinder engine. THEN I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK BECAUSE THEY BROKE THE OIL PAN IN THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE AND HE LET TO DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THAT I GUESS SO I CAN BREAK AGAIN AND CHARGE ME AGAIN. THEN... AIR CONDITIONER WAS WORKING BEFORE WHEN THERE AND THEN WAS NOT WORKING AFTER THE ENGINE GOT REPLACE AND THE HE SAID IT WAS NOT WORKING SO NEVER GOT FIX. IF HE IS LIKE THAT WITH HIS EMPLOYEES I DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW HE CHARGE TO CUSTOMER THAT HE DON'T KNOW OR CARE ABOUT. AND LET JUST ADD THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE EMPLOYEE THAT HAS EXPERIENCE SUCH TREATMENT AT BEAR TIRE & AUTO. I MUST SAID I'M LUCKY OTHER CAN'T SAID THE SAME. STAY AWAY FROM BEAR AUTO CENTER!!! Honesty, integrity and customer service are COMPLETELY MISSING from this business. We had a problem with our car and called AAA to tow us to a nearby dealer for repair. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side and the tow dispatch was sent to BEAR AUTO CENTER. The Bear tow truck operator arrived, looked at our car and said we should go to his shop rather than the car dealer we had requested because Bear would save us big money on this simple repair. Being a bit skeptical, we pressed him to make sure the shop could get us back on the road with minimal cost (~$150) in a couple of hours. The Bear driver called in the problem to his shop and we were assured we'd be back on the road shortly. Getting towed to their shop in Hainesport -- miles away from any other place -- the estimate suddenly jumped to $1800 and a full extra day to complete the repair! Whoa...we immediately thanked them for the new ""estimate"" and asked to be towed to our original planned destination, our car dealer. Now the fun starts. We've got a broken down car, in the middle of nowhere and all the other businesses have closed since it's now after 5 pm. Recognizing the fact that they've now got us over a barrel, the shop manager is now demanding we pay them $95 before he'll tow us to our car dealer. I feel we're being scammed because there was no previous mention of this $95 charge by any of his employees. I tried to reason with the shop manager but he's obviously been down this path before of taking advantage of customers who are reluctantly stuck at his shop. We went back and forth for nearly 45 minutes. More important, the shop manager made the argument personal and assaulted my family's character. He was very condescending, arrogant, and would continuously try to talk over me. Bottom line, this guy is small time, runs a small time outfit that seeks to take advantage of people in trouble, and has his own personal issues in dealing in a business situation. My advice...stay away from this place at all costs. And, if you ever find a Bear tow truck operator offering to bring your car to Bear Auto Center, kindly refuse before you become stuck in Hainesport like my family...\r \r One more update...Our car dealer repaired the vehicle the next day for $700 CHEAPER THAN Bear Tire & Auto Center. Just one more reason to stay away from Bear Tire and Auto Center and their shady business practices. more

Me and my family have been bringing our cars here forever. They do anything from replacing headbulbs to transmissions and axles. I even use them for towing my car and helping me when I lock my keys in my car. more

This company was out doing a battery charge on another car, while leaving they hitt my car and drove off. They then had to come tow the car because it would jump so I was able to get the business info. Cops were called and they got a hitt and run ticket. Now they are refusing to give me any of their insurance info. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They are very rude and their drivers are unexperienced! I would never trust my safety to a company like this. My car needed some work so I brought it in.\r Here is the list of lies:\r Brakes are leaking (They were not)\r Seat needs to be welded (A bolt was broken)\r Brake Light Switch needs to be replaced (They pull the fuse out)\r Master and Operating Cylinder needed to be replaced on the clutch (Once the air was removed from the line, the clutch works fine)\r \r They damaged the sidewall and my tire.\r \r If your car is on FIRE in front of their shop you would be better off letting it burn. more
