I normally don't write these but I saw the review about the cat and felt I should give my two cents on Dr. Johnson. After owning several reptiles, I can say there are precious few good vets in this city that actually know what they are doing with them. Dr. Johnson always diagnosed issues correctly, did what he could to cut down on costs for me (reptile visits are generally more expensive than dog/cat because of the speciality.. at any vet, not just this one), and was extremely honest and caring with me when I had to put my monitor down due to a bone disease that had broken her neck. \r

I have also brought my dog to him and he is a great all around vet, he is always nice, upfront, and polite. I have seen other vets at the University Vet Hospital and they have all been great. They have extremely flexible hours, a knowledgable staff, and always let me see whatever part of treatment I want to be there for. (i.e. no wisking away my pets for shots, etc. without me being there like I have heard of at other places)\r

They also are great about accomodating you, for instance one of my dogs was being a little cranky about giving a urine sample and I had to get to work so they kept for her for the day in their kennel and got the sample they needed and I grabbed her after work. I think leaving her there cost a little extra but it seemed like a very small amount and was understandable due to the extra service. All around, I give the hospital an A+. :)
Pros: hours, knowledgable staff
