Worst

Went to Barone's last night...y favorite pizza usually. Last night orderd two pepperoni pizza's and the were both burned. Either the ovens aren't working properly or

Thin crust heaven 12/12/2005

Originally from Boston, I have an incredibly hard time finding even a passable pizza out here in La La Land. I have finally found the holy grail. Barone's in Sherman Oaks is far and away the best pizza in the San Fernando Valley. Believe me, I have tried most of them with GREAT dissapointment. The crust is thin, the sauce just slightly spicy with just the right amount of cheese. My favorite is the bacon and mushroom. Try it, you'll die for it! Dosen't beat the hometown pie, but thank God it's out here in the land of fruits and nuts. Pros: full bar, good service more

Consistency 10/7/2005

I have been patronizing Barones since the mid 70's, and the quality and quantity of the food hasn't changed one iota. The pizza still tastes exactly like it did 30 years ago. I would reccommend the pepperoni pizza, which is still my favorite. Pros: Comfortable Seating, Good Parking, Bar more

Barone's pizza is without a doubt the best, most unusual, tastiest thing you will ever eat. They closed their Toluca Lake branch so I don't get to go there as much as I want, but it is fantastic. If you eat in, the atmosphere is Regal Beagle all the way-- '70s and not apologizing for it. The other dishes there are very old-school, not fancy Italian, but solid. But I would stick to the pizza; it's just simply the best. I ran a marathon last year and everyone asked me what I wanted to eat afterwardI had Barones cheese pizza. more

One slice and you will be hooked 5/14/2005

The best pizza I've had since moving here from the east coast. Everything is fresh and homemade. The pizza is a must have but the rest of the menu is is also worth the drive from anywhere, the steaks and broiled shrimp are outstanding and the homemade cheesecake is absolutely the BEST!! Casual, comfortable, affordable and kareoke on Fri and Sat nights..... what a great way to spend an evening. Pros: Plenty of free parkin, Full Bar, Great Service more

It's really not fair to compare Barone's to other great pizza restaurants (and I've been to them all...my runner-up would be Pizzeria Due in Chicago), because their pizza is just...different somehow. Pros: Simply the best pizza, Real Bacon topping, Still in business! Cons: Atmosphere is dated more

The Best Pizza In the World. I have eaten pizza in Italy, Chicago and New York. This Restaurant serves up the best pizza anywhere. It has a thin crust of perfect consistency. Homemade tasting sauce, plenty of cheese and an excellent variety of available toppings. Not to be missed. The pizza is worth the somewhat abrupt service. If this troubles you simply order to go.
