Unprofessional, is the food really worth it? 10/27/2010

The food was good, nothing extra special, but the service was HORRIBLE. I had my elderly father with me and my daughter with because I read the reviews. It was very misleading and between the two of them it was very stressful. The owner was very impolite and let her very young daughter run around like an animal. It was over crowded, the entire vibe of the place made you feel like you were cattle getting in and out.. I would not recommended this to anyone that wants decent food, with poor service, and a long wait. more

Terrific authentic Thai Restaurant in White Bear Lake 10/1/2010

This restaurant is terrific. Real authentic Thai food. I've been going to this restaurant and either eating in or taking it to go for over 7 years now. Be careful how hot you get it! I like it hot and I get medium. more

Best Thai in the area 9/18/2010

Excellent quality of Thai food. It's always fresh and wonderful. It is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. My family has been coming here for the past three years and we have yet to find a better Thai place in the Twin Cities that comes close to the quality of this restaurant. more

Thairiffic! 12/4/2009

Everything here is pretty great. I have always left satisfied. The only downfall is the slow service. However, the owner is so personable and friendly it's worth the wait. Pros: good food Cons: slow service more

Amazing! Authentic.....Aroy-dee!!!! 9/20/2009

Just returned from nearly 6 wks in amazing Thailand...wanted to find an authentic thai restaurant with Singha and SPICY food. Found it. I wanted to cry upon walking into Ban Thai. The service was friendly, and the cook from Thailand, and her husband travels there often too.....that alone made me want to come back. The portions are huge--definetly NOT thai style, more MN style, but hey, thats where we are! They cater to MN mild, or Thai hot!!!! Many authentic Thai dishes, thai beer, coffee and tea.....if wanting to reminisce of Thailand, come here....You will love it! Pros: Great chef, friendly staff, beautiful artwork Cons: In White Bear...far from me :( more

Best Thai food in the enitre metro! 2/19/2008

The protions are huge, the food is authenitc, and the owner is so sweet and generous. It is unfortunate they don't get more business because it would be a shame if they close! The egg rolls are to die for, the pad thai is so heavenly! more

Delicious, authentic Thai food with flavor to the max 10/20/2007

I stopped into Ban Thai while working in White Bear Lake (Fall 2006), and I have been a regular ever since. I love the many vegetarian selections, and the vegetarian spring rolls were so fresh and tasty (the best I have ever had anywhere)...in fact, I called the owner, Oh, and asked her on two occasions to prepare orders of the spring rolls for parties at my home. My guests raved about them, and one lady wants to lunch with me in the future at Ban Thai. I have tried many other Thai restaurants, and many of them offer too greasy of an approach to their sauces. I like this place so much that I have the number programmed into my cell phone so I can order things to go on the way home. Oh takes an interest in her customers, and her little daughter, Sammi, is a delight. Oh's husband is a gracious waiter and is very proud of what his wife offers. If you haven't tried Ban Thai, you are missing a lot. Check it out! Pros: Quiet street, free parking, great menu Cons: Restaurant a bit noisy, but it doesn't stop me from conversing or reading more

Great food, atmosphere lacking 3/20/2006

The food at Ban Thai is terrific, been there once and will go back. The restaurant is very open without any walls. The main disappointment was that they don't give you enough rice to eat your food and then charge $1.50 for another small plate of rice. But the food was too good not to go back! Pros: The food!, Many choices Cons: Not enough rice!, Atmosphere more

5 Star Thai Restaurant 10/20/2005

Quite frankly the BEST THAI food in Minnesota. I have eaten at most of the Thai restaurants in the Twin Cities and this one actually serves authentic Thai food. Ban Thai has a large menu so you can be sure of getting your favorite Thai Dish. The owner, Oh Marid was there and she took the time to point me in the direction of some fantastic dishes. Pros: Great Food, Friendly Wait staff, Easy to find more
