Editorial review from Citysearch 9/28/2012

Do not go to this clinic. I have never been treated so horribly in my life. I made an appointment looking for a new primary care Dr. I had seen some horrible reviews but I had taken them with a grain of salt. I never even saw Dr. Mazzeo I was asked what medications I was on and I forgot about one of them. Apparently the nurse found online that I was prescribed a mild pain medication and because I didn't disclose that I was accused of being a drug seeker and the Dr. refused to see me. I was not there for pain medication I was only there to find a primary care and get a different anti-inflammatory. I didn't even have a chance to tell the Dr. what I was there for because I wasn't ""honest"". I wasn't trying to get over on anyone or get opiates if the Dr. would have talked to me like a grown up instead of hiding behind his ball buster nurse he would have known I didn't want pain medication. I realize in this day and age there is an epidemic with pain meds, but to refuse to even see a patient that has patiently waited for 3 weeks for an appointment based on an assumption it unprofessional at best. I was humiliated and left the office crying. I am sickened that a Dr. who took an oath would treat a patient this way, no one deserves to be treated like this. more

NEVER AGAIN 4/20/2011

the clinic itself is very attractive, and I found the front desk staff to be helpful and friendly. However, the nurse practitioner was very cold and harsh. I went in for chronic back pain caused by a car accident and she immediately acccused me of being drug seeking, even though I specifically told her I did not like taking narcotics. When she filled out the fee form, she charged me 70 dollars more than I had originally been quoted, and did not even give me a prescription, just told me to put ice on it. To be avoided at all costs. more

Revised Opinion - Stay away 11/23/2010

At first I believed Dr. Urriola cared about her patients and I had a connection with her. I have found out that she values the money more than her patients. I have a small bill that I had paid 1/3 of it but not enough for her office. When I went to a scheduled appt I was told she refused to see me until I paid at least $25 and then I could reschedule and wouldn't meet me at all. Didn't have the class to come talk with me personnally. I took off a day of work to make the appt but they did not care. I had very little money left in my acct but they did not care. It was all about the money. You pay I will see you. You don't, sorry you can suffer or go somewhere else. Her front desk person had a robotic answer for everything and insisted she spoke to the dr and I had to see billing, no compassion and even brought out ""help"" by some other woman just in case. I was in tears but they did not care nor worried that they embarrased me in front of others. I WILL NEVER GO BACK and I will ask those that are going or thinking of going, try missing or being late for 1 payment and see what happens. Your ""great caring physcian and staff"" no longer exists. Karma...everyone is close to be hard up financially. Be careful how you handle others in that position. I will keep looking for an actual physician that looks at patients first. more

Dr. Mazzeo is exceptional! 5/12/2010

The clinic itself is very nice, clean and easy to navigate if you are moving slow or in significant pain. The reception staff is courteous, very professional and will answer any questions they can regarding insurance, billing or scheduling. Pros: Detailed, Listens to you Cons: NONE! more

Choose the right doc 11/17/2009

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Alina Urriola for years. She is smart, caring, and personable. I trust her judgment. Over the years, we have seen a few of the other docs there, and some have had really odd personalities. Sometimes brusque, or just odd. Free and plentiful parking, right in front. The clinic is clean, the front desk people are great, and the location is convenient for us. And they are open on weekends! If you go, just be picky about what doc you see. Pros: Dr. Urriola, front desk, parking, wkend hours Cons: some weird docs more

never again. 8/4/2009

I went here because I thought I had strep throat. The front staff did their part well. Was taken in by a nurse who never made eye contact while she did the preliminary check ups. She left then moments later I could hear a man talking outside about me and my temperature, saying that ""its more than likely strep based on his body temperature."" In comes a girl, not a man that says she is a nurse's assistant? She does the whole check up and wasn't bad at it. She leaves and later I hear the same man talking outside with the lady that just checked me. He comes in and says he wants to check things or what I felt check her diagnosis. He starts telling her that I should be put on another medication instead of what she was going to prescribe that he ""almost always prescribes for strep."" He says 5 days, a pill a day and done. He looks in my throat and makes a face and asks me if I had strep before, I said a few times. He then asks me if I ever consider having them removed. I told him I'd rather not. He scuffs and immediately leaves. What kind of professional advice is that?! She leaves and comes back telling me the prescription and tells me I should consider having them removed to prevent this from happening again. I just don't understand why a Nurse's Assistant is the one being professional while the ""doctor"" (by the way his name was Bob) who is checking on the Nurse's Assistant's work is acting completely unprofessional? The reason why I am writing this is because my strep throat didn't clear after 24-48 hrs I was told. I will be going back to hopefully get another prescription or something to fix this problem. Then I'm never returning here again. This was probably my fourth time going here but I'd rather drive further away than have to deal with that ""doctor"" again. Pros: convienence Cons: bad doctor more

Dr. Reid was awful! 8/3/2009

The office staff was caring and professional. Dr. Reid was mean, judgemental and nasty. Basically she dosent listen and is so quick to make false diagnoses. She put a box of kleenex on my lap while I was explaining my prior surgeries and telling her about my medical history. Then she started judging me when there was nothing to judge. I would avoid her at all costs. I have heard the other MD's are good, but she is really not professional and uncaring on many levels. She made me a nervous wreck. I was just looking for a new primary care. Pros: The rest of the office staff was great! Cons: Dr. Reid more

Doctors great - reception terrible 4/28/2009

The receptionists are consistently rude. Jessica at the front desk is very unkind when I come in. more

Great and Convenient Family Practice 3/9/2009

I have been going to Clinic for over a year and have been nothing but pleased. They do an excellent job with both of my children. They are always able to ""fit"" me in to the last minute emergency appointments. I love that they are open Sat and Sun for a bit for those weekend illnesses. There is lots of parking, a clean waiting area, and attentive staff. I have been to 5 of the doctors there and find that they are attentive, listen well and are proactive. I have left several other Clinics because of their lack of the above things. I find this office provides excellent care and I am refering them to all of my friends and loved ones. Pros: Weekend Clinic, Last minute appointments, Parking, Clean, Attentive Cons: Haven't figured that out yet. more

Caring, Compitant 12/18/2008

The staff here at the Ballinger Clinic are caring, and they care about their patients. Billing has not been a problem. Getting appts is easier than most and parking is ample and free. more

Worse clinic ever. DON'T GO THERE. 9/19/2008

THE BALLINGER CLINIC HAS THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESIONAL. THE STAFF IS NOT WELL TRAINED AND THEY MAKE A LOT OF MISTAKES. I HAVE BEEN PROVIDED INCORRECT INFORMATION BY BILLING AND RECORDS STAFF NUMBER OF TIMES. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS CLINC TO ANYBODY UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING TO CREATE MORE HEADACHES AND TROBLE FOR YOUSELF. THE DOCTOR'S ASSISTANS ARE THE WROSE PEOPLE THAT CAN POSSIBLY ASSIST A PATIENT. THE INCOMPETENCE OF ALL THE STAFF THERE EXCEPT MAYBE FOR THE FRONT DESK IS INCREDIBLE AND I AM SORRY THAT I EVER WENT TO THEIR CLINIC. THANK YOU BALLINGER CLINIC FOR COMPLETELY MESSING UP MY HEALTH. Pros: THE ONLY PERSON THAT DID HER JOB IS THE FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST Cons: EVERYBODY IN STAFF ARE INCOMPETENT. more

My insurance company is still waiting for the referral 8/28/2008

Went in and got a referral. Two months later, my insurance company is still waiting to receive it. Talked with a secretary at the office a month back, said it would be taken care of. Still waiting. I paid full price for my last few allergy shots. Should be fun trying to get reimbursed for those. won't be going back. more
