Avantis Swimming Academy

I can say many good things about Avantis Swimming Academy summer camp! My 5 year old loved every minute of it, from the cool science projects to the fun activities and games. (I loved the fact that he was learning lots of scientific concepts without even realizing it.) The counselors were fantastic - helped him integrate and made him feel very welcome. He looked forward to seeing his friends each day. We highly recommend this camp and would enroll him again. more

I haven't been to any swimming pools in staten island. Avantis Swimming Academy place was a pleasant surprise. It is big and the lanes can crowd up in the cold pool, but people are polite. The chlorine isn't too strong. They let you borrow goggles if you left yours at home. For reasonable price. The pool & its water felt clean & fresh. At one point, I am really enjoying my swimming lessons here. more

The staff is particularly friendly, 5 Stars for my Pool!! I only swim, though I'm thinking of branching out to the gym across the street but I really hate to sweat. I hear the pool gets crowded at noon, but I swim after work and always get my own lane. The pools are SPECTACULAR and they definitely afford a classy "urban experience". Look for the spotless bathrooms, top-notch classes, and the staff are very smart and friendly. more

We love Avantis Swimming Academy - the poolside experience is a treasure. Also, the most effective, professional, and thorough personal trainer I've ever worked with. their thoroughness in weight training, cardio, yoga and nutrition make for an effective workout. They have big place for shower portion to get clear before /after swimming. All over nice experience. more

Decently priced, good classes, good place to train for some competitive sports. The best part though is the pool it is really big in size. Now forget I told you so that way don't have to share a lane. Large locker room and plenty of showers. 5 star because its wonderful experience.The best swimming camp facility for the money! more

My kids LOVE Avantis Swimming Academy and always ask to go back every summer. The staff gets to know each child and really makes them feel special. They are great role models. Seeing the huge smiles on my boys' faces when picking them up, and listening to them talk excitedly about the projects they were working on makes my day as a parent. It was amazing to be able to have them at camp all day long on a beautiful summer day and know that they would be outside learning, singing, enjoying their summer. Not only is it the most fun camp my kids have attended, but they also learn so much about specific trades, about teamwork and a lot of life-lessons along the way. It's definitely a camp in which you get more for your money. Also, so it's five minutes from my house. Sign your kids up now! You will never want to send them to another camp again! more
