I applied for a loan at Bill Holt Chevorolet in Elijay Ga, after spending 6 hours of my Saturday at this dealership I am told I will be contacted Monday. I made contact with Auto Credit of Atlanta the following Friday. This finance company is a joke. There interest rate is 29.00% ( Which should be illegal). I was approved for in the begining was a macII loan, maximum finance amount was 7500.00. After having absolutley no luck with the Dealerships in Georgia, my loan was transferred to the Chattanooga office. I talked with 2 dealerships before I finally found the car that I wanted. The total price of the vehicle was 8495.00. I was putting down 1495.00 + TXS of 715.00. That was a total of 2210.00. They ran all the information though the Chattanooga office who routed it to Knoxville. By the time the loan was approved here is how it turned out. I was approved for a contract amount of 7050.00. with a 2000.00 discount that was being placed in a reserve account. The total amount of the loan turned out to be 6500.00 not 7050.00. With the reserve being put into place that left the dealership collecting a 4500.00 check. Now keep in mind that I had already came out of pocket 2210.00. That left me owing the dealership 7000.00. Now minus the 4500.00 that AUTO CREDIT was financing they said that I would have to put down an additional 2500.00 in order to buy the vehicle that was a total of 4710.00 that I had to put down. Here is the Kicker, you only can buy a vehicle that falls into there requirements under THEIR plan. My payments were 161.39 for 61 MONTHS..that was 5 years and 1 month. Total for the vehicle was 9844.79 plus the 4710.00 that I was putting down. That comes to 14554.79 for a 2001 rodeo. So here is what I did. Told AUTO CREDIT TO STICK IT and baught the Rodeo with 800.00 down at 16.00% Simple Interest. Payments 332.43 for 2 years. Total Interest Paid 1094.72. That was with a dealership that I had baught 2 of my other vehicles with. Best Advice ...KEEP AWAY!!!
