I have happily gone to Au Courant for 17 years, where Cheryl keeps me "looking good" But recently my husband at age 82, inexplicably decided to grow a beard. It was not a pretty sight. OMG He finally agreed to get professional help at The Den. It was like an Oprah makeover!! Katrina turned him into a well groomed gentleman, he went in looking , in my (OK much younger wife) opinion, like a homeless person, emerged transformed. He was delighted, and wants to go back. The Den is wonderful. more

Au Courant on Mercer Island has very friendly staff with good experience. The salon is small and welcoming. Their Chai Tea is positively delighful as well! Pros: wonderful service; coffee, and beverages offered more

Get a facial with Nichole today!! 11/17/2009

I had my very first facial with Nichole. She taught me everything I need to know about how to care for my skin and what to use. I had the most relaxing and amazing time in Au Courant. The tea and hair stylists made me feel comfortable and welcome and I can't wait to go back next month! Thanks Nichole! Pros: Awesome location Cons: I want to go every day more

Au Courant was recommended to me by a friend. Pam and the rest of the staff were so much fun. Plus they give newcomers a nice little goodie bag on their first visit. :) I highly recommend them! Pros: Fantastic, professional staff Cons: None! more

I recently moved from Seattle to Mercer Island. I needed to find a new hair salon. Au Courant was recommended by a friend. When I arrived I was welcomed by a very friendly staff. The atmosphere was warm and festive. Best of all, the whole staff seemed to have a fun-loving relationship with one another. more

Best Customer Service 1/6/2009

I have gone to the salon twice and have enjoyed by experiences thoroughly! Boy, do they know how to treat a customer right! Upon entering the store, it looks a little outdated and quirky, but don't be put off by the decor because these people really know what they are doing! As a new customer you are greeted with a welcome pack (a sample of their own shampoo) and a $5 gift certificate to use at your next appointment. In addition, they follow-up with a thank you note in the mail! I have never been to a salon with such stellar customer service. In fact, I used to pay $90 for a haircut at Gene Juarez in Bellevue for some years and the customer service there doesn't even come close to matching the service at Au Courant. Plus, I have received more compliments on my hair cut from Anne at Au Courant than I did while going to Gene Juarez. You should definitely give these guys a try! And if you're not extremely satisfied, you're only out $40+/-. Pros: Customer Service, Location, Skilled professionals more
