If you are going to drink wine order a bottle.\r \r They only give you about 1/3 of a glass if you order it. The service here was more along the lines of a 5-star restaurant without having the exorbitant prices of one. They actually served from the left and removed from the right! Wow.\r \r The cocktails were excellent, albeit pricey for the call brands. I had the soup -- a lobster bisque -- and it was incredible. My date had the wedge salad with gorgonzola, which he enjoyed immensely until he tried my soup. :)\r \r for dinner, he ordered the special, crabcake and lobster. It was fabulous. Wish I had gotten it. I went with an item from the 11.50 menu, sauteed shrimp. it sounded good, but it had so much bacon in it, everything tasted like bacon -- the shrimp actually tasted like bacon. i am not a bacon fan, so i didn't like this at all. the cheese grits that it was served on top of were creamy and very tasty -- well, what wasn't covered up by the shrimp, corn and BACON mixture. \r \r Since it was a birthday, they brought my date a ganache covered vanilla cream cake thing. it's impossible to describe how wonderfully rich the cream filling was. and how well it went with the fresh berries and how nice the plating was. \r \r i would definitely go back, i just won't be having the shrimp again. Like everyone else said, you must try the crabcake. Best I have ever eaten. They make their own sorbets, so even if you are too full for a dessert, the excellent sorbets are a clean ending to a great meal. We reserve between 5 and 6 to get the specials, best deal in town. I came to Aspen's for a Birthday Dinner, having never been there before. We made reservations (as reccomended... PLEASE... make reservations...) and were promptly seated by a very corteous hostess. Out waiter was very clean, and attentive. The Food WAS FANTASTIC. And for dessert, try the tiramisu. Pros: Good Parking, Excellent Service, GREAT Food more

We live nearby and can usually eat dinner at the bar. However, if you want to have dinner on a weekend night, you will need to make a reservation, as they will reserve all tables and leave none for walk-ins. I find it hard to believe that Aspens got any negative reviews at all. My husband and I go there at least once a month and we've never been disappointed. The food, the service, and the ambience are all excellent. It was quite a surprise to find a restaurant of this calibre in our area of Cobb County (northeast Cobb). We believe it's the best restaurant in all of East Cobb. From 5:00 to 6:00 on Monday through Friday, you can get their entrees for $10 - it's a great deal! But because this ""earlybird special"" is so popular, you DO need reservations - this may be what happened to the reviewer who was complaining that they went to the restaurant only to be told they needed reservations. more

Aspens Signature Steaks offer a variety of entrees, in an extremely nice evironment, and has been my favorite restaurant for about a year now. The wine list they put together has the most incredible variety I have ever seen. My recommendation: Order the crabcakes as an appetizer(the most mouth watering appetizer in the world), for your entree enjoy a wonderful cut of their Certified Angus Beef Prime Rib(so juicy), and for desert, my favorite, creme brule. Hopefully, they are still taking reservations. It took them a while to work out the glitches in reservations vs no reservations, but the last time we were there it was excellent. more

I would not even bother trying this restaurant out. I have searched the internet for a nice place to eat. My husband was out of the country for the past 3 months and we wanted to go somewhere to have a nice dinner for our Anniversary. No where on this site did it say reservations recommended or required. We arrived at the restaurant shortly after they opened several tables were vacant and were refused because we did not have a reservation. This is fine although we spent the next 2 hrs looking for another restaurant. They shouldn't even have hrs posted as they only take reservations. A place of business should not ever sell out to reservations only unless it is a special occasion ie: Mother's Day Christmas, etc. more

Great food. Great Atmosphere. Big Bill. The food is tops in Marietta, particularly the steak. Try the Cowboy ribeye and you'll agree. No steak sauce needed, it's that good. This is one of the nicest restaurants in Mariettta. We need more. I've been twice. I enjoyed the meals both times although I think the menu is strictly on the ""safe"" side. I'd like to see them try some up to date fusion, maybe go out on a limb with somethings that were not so traditional and predicatable. Overall, I think that what they do offer is well done. more

We happened upon Aspens around 6:00 one night and got to select from the Early Bird menu - everything $10! I have never spent a better $10. My salmon was incredible - cooked to order. The other 3 people at the table were equally delighted with their meal. What a great find! Even if you miss the Early Bird special, trust me when I say that your meal will be well worth it. more

We have eaten here three times now, and each experience was memorable. As a starter, the lobster bisque is rich and creamy with just the right touch of spice. The steaks are truly extraordinary, and the wine list is large and varied. Standard selection of deserts, but all are executed well. Put all this together with a very knowledgable wait staff that knows when to be there and when to leave you alone, heavy linens on big tables, and a room that creates just the right atmosphere for a long dinner with friends, and you have a dining experience that is worth every cent. We've eaten at Aspens several times and have always been extemely pleased with this place. Being an E Cobb resident and frequent traveler I spend a lot of time in restaurants around the country and Atlanta. The food is excellent, the wine list is good ( mostly West Coast) and the service is always very attentive. It gets panned by critics who are Buckhead and Midtown biased, but who cares. An excellent place for dinner, save yourself the drive and parking hassle in Buckhead. more
