GREATEST VET 2/13/2011

Great vet to take your animals to, they are extremely caring. This is where I take Fluffy & Chloe. I can honestly say that Dr. Johnson & Dr. Schifo have been so helpful with Fluffy during all her chemo treatments, Dr. johnson is the most animal loving vet I have ever met, you can tell his heart is in the care of the animals. THANKS for helping both of my dogs when needed & for being so caring & honest & putting my mind at ease when I was scared about what decisions to make for treatment. I will continue to send friends to this clinic.I had a emergency onChristmas night & Dr. Johnson met me at the clinic. THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you are doing & have done for my dogs, words can never thank you. more

Best Vet Around 2/13/2011

I recently took my beloved 16 year old lab mix to the clinic to be put to sleep. All of the girls at the front were so kind and caring. Chief meant everything to me and the vet handle him with such love. My wife and I have now adopted a one year dog that reminds me of my dear firend and of course I took him back to Archer Vet. Very happy with everyone there! more

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. They did surgery on the wrong leg of a dog and didn't notice until they picked up the animal. The language of people that work there is very unprofessional. No one knows whats going on behind the desk. It is very cramped and there is nowhere to sit in the waiting room. There is also a long wait to see a doctor and they are in and out in like 10 minutes. more

Just Awesome 1/9/2011

Really... \r the best Vet Practice in the AREA.\r and I've seen it all. :) having three dogs... (4 in the past 4 years)... I haven't seen a practice where EVERYONE is so helpful, kind, friendly, and willing to do what it takes to get things done. I only wish I listened to my friends and neighbors earlier and took my pets there a few years ago.\r Thank you! more

I drive over an hour just to get their excellent care. 11/12/2010

I started going to Archer Vets after they came highly recommended from a friend. About a year ago, I moved a little over an hour away to downtown Chicago. In January of this year, my dog got hold of a bunch of toothpicks and swallowed them whole. She started vomiting blood, so instead of bringing her to one of the hundreds of vets near me, I brought her to the ones I knew I could trust. They quickly told me all of my options, and then rushed her in for emergency surgery. Not only are they some of the most caring people around, they also somehow manage to keep their prices reasonable. My dog loves it there. more

I would trust them with MY life!!! 10/29/2010

I had a 17-year old (outdoor) female cat named Wingnut with renal failure which eventually took her life on April 9th, 2008. I just could not believe that Dr. Johnson, Dr. Cook and the staff were so complete in diagnosing her problem and treating her. Thanks to everyone at Archer Vet Clinic, I had another 3 months to enjoy Wingnut's love and devotion. I have no children so she was my little girl. Dr. Johnson was so attentive near the end (even at 2:00 AM). I now have Captain Jack Sparrow (a 7-month old male cat) whom I had to take in to remove his tool bag (I don't care for the term "castration" because it makes ME cringe) & for all his shots. Again, the excellence in care cannot be compared to any other clinic. Dr. Stauffenburg was very complete in Captain Jack's surgery, inoculations, and recovery. Archer Vet Clinic makes it affordable to give your beloved pet nothing but the best in healthcare. I only wish this type of care was available to me. Thank you to everyone at Arch more

Best Care Anywhere 6/2/2010

There is a vet office about a mile from my home, but I drive a half hour to take my three dogs and their puppies to Archer Vet Clinic because they are hands down the best anywhere. While all the doctors on staff are excellent, my favorite is Dr. Schifo. She knows the names and histories of my dogs and calls them by name. She is not only knowledge on breeding issues, but can perform complex surgeries as well. The prices are less than half of what I have paid elsewhere for comparable services, and I trust the doctors more. Dr. Johnson must select his staff very carefully to have such a caring and skilled group. I would never take my precious doggies anywhere else. more

There's no one better! 5/3/2010

Dr. Johnson and his staff are phenomenal! My rescue has had its ashare of medically needy dogs and Dr. Johnson has been able to provide top-quality care for every one of them. He successfully performed life-saving open heart surgery on a puppy. He has repaired luxating patellas and broken legs. He makes himself available after hours for emergency care. His rates are extremely reasonable. Dr. Johnson has a great depth of knowledge in his profession and will tell you like it is. He's not out to pile on unnecessary testing and fees. I've trusted Dr. Johnson with the care of very fragile rescued dogs and will definitely continue to do so for as long as he's practicing! more

The Best!! 4/13/2010

I have taken my maltese Daisy to this vet clinic since she was born. They are all so wonderful at the office and help you with anything you need. My dog has multiple medicalproblem due to over breeding and they have kept her going for longer than expected. I recommend everyone to this vet. They are great and really know how to treat animals! more

Best vet in the area 3/8/2010

One of our beloved German Shepherds got into a serious accident at 11PM on a Saturday night. I called Dr. Johnson's paging service and he met me at the clinic and provided emergency care for my dog. I have never been more impressed with a vet.\r \r Thanks to Dr. Johnson, the dog made a full recovery. I have 5 dogs and they are all under Archer Vet Clinic's care. more

Highly recommed! 11/6/2009

My family has been loyal clients of Dr. Johnson and his staff for years. He takes great care of his clients, making house calls if needed. We had a rott that had cancer and he did everything he could to care for our dog and for us as well. When the dog could not be saved he made a house call to put our dog down in the comfort of our home. Dr. Johnson and his staff are all wonderful people who truly care about animals and their humans :) I HIGHLY recommend this clinic. more

Do not bring your pet to Archer Veterinary Clinic 7/12/2009

I think this place is very unsanitary. when do surgery they have the windows open and they do not give give post-op meds after a surgery and they put your animal in a cold cage afterwards with no blanket more

exta ordinary care 4/16/2009

Dr. Johnson's staff has been my choice for over 22 years. My Shepherd was a patient at this clinic her entire life. When it was her time to go, Dr. Johnson came to my house to administer the drugs to let her go to sleep, knowing that she and I would be more comfortable at home at such a devastating and sad time. He explained the process each step of the way and comforted us as I held her. It's a very hard thing to do, but this was a much gentler way to do it. I can't thank Dr. Johnson enough for having so much compassion for us pet owners. more

6 wk old puppy almost died 5/23/2008

My puppy had Parvel which is a deadly disease for puppies. The vet recognized the symptoms immediately, tested him and in 8 minutes we knew for sure. They treated him right away and kept him for 3 days until he was out of danger. I would recommend this veterinary clinic in a heartbeat to anyone. They are all very caring and understanding people. Every staff member was very helpful giving me updates and letting me come and visit. I can't say enough good about this clinic. Thanks to all you staff people who make this clinic world class. more

Our pets have been going to Dr. Johnson for over 15 years. He has been very helpful. He has come in for emergencies on Sundays for us. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend them more

Satisfied Customer 11/7/2007

Took our dog to be neutered. Staff was friendly. Doctor spent time talking with me ahead of time. Pricing is reasonable. Would recommend. Only thing I was not too happy with was after the surgery, the Dr. Johnson did not talk with me he had is assistant fill me in on all the details. Also, they forgot to put the locator chip in so they had to do that while he as awake. more

I always take my pets here for vaccinations and other routine examinations, The vet has a great way with pets and the staff is very well trained too. Great Vet! 11/6/2005

We have been going to this vet for years. He is very nice and understanding. He is also very realistic, and knows that even though people don't have tons of money to spend on their pets, they want them to have the best lives possible. He makes realistic suggestions, and is always willing to help. We have had to put a pet to sleep, and the office mails a handwritten sympathy card and everything. Very thoughtful. more
