Great Job! 9/14/2011

Applewood has been my 'go to' plumbing & heating co. for several years ... they are always helpful & informative and rarely have I had to ask them to come back to 're-fix' anything. Plus they are available at any time, so I've never been left in a crisis. \r I highly recommend becoming a club member: it saves money! more

Applewood Plumbing 9/14/2011

Employee was very helpful and respectful. Did a great job and would recommend this company to all my friends. Very knowledgable and friendly. more

Pricey/didn't fix/created additional problem 9/12/2011

Applewood was called for a problem with my hydrothermic heating system and concluded incorrectly that we had a bad zone value & replaced it. We later had to call someone else who replaced the same zone valve a second time($150 part + labor). They saved the zone value which had been replaced...it was nearly shut off completely because the technician had used way too much solder. Because of this incident, I wouldn't recommend this company as their expertice may be too limited. more

Good Service 9/7/2011

I have used this company several times. They are always punctual and professional. They also leave the work area clean and this is a big deal with rental properties with tenants involved. Thanks Guys! more

Way over priced service good 9/6/2011

They came into the house and quoted me 386 dollars to bid on the job, just to tell me what they needed to do. It $7,000 and the replaced pipe went from house to sidewalk. Not even completed job to street. The pipe length was 75 feet at 10 feet deep, replaced by pushing pipe through and busting out old pipe. Took 8 hours. However, now they claim that we have to replace inside plumbing for 3600 at least inside house because they did not solve interior problem. While there work is exceptional, the plumbers are all salesmen and do not really know what they are doing. They used mini camera should have used full camera and did not provide any video. Used pressure sales tactics and inflated prices to get you to go with their service and avoid due diligence. more

DO NOT USE, OVERPRICED, RIP OFF!!! 9/6/2011

I dont know how anyone can use these guys, I am a real estate agent and my elderly client used these guys not knowing what cost of things are and after she told me how much i was in shock and called 4 other companies and they were in SHOCK of the total. They all quoted $700 hundred less!!! They took advantage of her and they sold her a ""membership""?? She is moving! why would she want that for a house that she is selling! DO NOT USE, CALL AROUND, I PROMISE OTHER COMPANIES WILL DO A BETTER JOB AND WILL NOT TAKE YOU TO THE CLEANERS! more

Great experience 8/25/2011

We had a great experience with hvac tech Charles. He arrived on time gave a fair bid to do the work, and when given the ok he did a great job. I will definately recommend this company and will use their service again if need be. Thanks again applewood!! more

Overpriced, unskilled, and not worth calling. 8/21/2011

Can I give less than 1 star? No? Okay. These guys suck. Overpriced and seemingly unqualified to turn a wrench. They gave me an estimate for $1200 to do some minor repairs on my AC, made me wait around all day to get this exorbitant estimate, and then tried to upsell me on a service plan. Told the tool to get out of my house and called someone else. $250. more

We've never had a bad experience with these men. 8/21/2011

We've been Gold Club members of Applewood for more than a half -dozen years. We've called them at typical times (failed heating, failed AC, stopped toilet, etc.) and each time their serviceman has been prompt, neat, and very professional. They are pricey, but we believe that you get what you pay for. We've never been disappointed in the results. They call annually to offer free checkups, which have SAVED us money more than once. I'm a guy who likes to follow the worker around and ask questions. I never get the feelingt that I should ""stop bothering me"" - questions are promptly answered and I have learned from these experiences. \r More than once over the years I have felt educated by the visit. WELL WORTH PAYING FOR! JOE more

Big pile of suck with a price tag 8/21/2011

Called them for a service that should be $200-300 and when they finally came by they tried to tell me it would be $1200. Then they tried to sell me an extended service plan. Then they tried to tell me I wouldn't find it cheaper and threw a bunch of scare tactics my way. Then I told him to leave and called a competitor. $250. Serious. more

Applewood Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric 8/19/2011

Bob Simmons, HVAC Service Technician, did my furnace inspection today. He was on time, efficient, and thorough. I had mentioned a potential electrical problem when he arrived. Bob volunteered to contact Applewood when he was finished with his inspection and make the appointment for me to have someone come out and evaluate the situation. Once he was completely finished, he went over the evaluation, gave me some tips on the temperature gauge and made sure that it was also in perfect working order. Bob then asked about the electrical issue. Bob then called the office, told them what I had said, and set up the appointment for an electrician to come out and give me some options. I am extremely pleased with Applewood and with Bob. I have used this company for several years. more

Applewood Plumbing, Heating, & electric 8/17/2011

I have had two major projects completed by Applewood. Today Steve installed my new furnace with Tom doing all the electrical portion. Both were very professional, prompt and neat. Steve included some extra duct work without an add on charge. Both explained the procedures that they completed and how those items applied to the code or how it may effect my energy use. Several months ago I had a sewer line repaired and it too went without a hitch with good coordination amongst the excavators, plumbers, etc. I more

What wonderful service. 8/16/2011

I unfortunately had a major electrical problem. I called Applewood and they sent out an electrician. They kept me updated on the arrival time of the tech. The problem was a major one and needed xcel to come repair lines. This was at 8pm at night and Applewood's tech Brian Bach would not leave until Xcel arrived. Brain was concerned about my safety and wanted to make sure that the necessary repairs took place before he left at 9pm. What wonderful service. Brian rates 5 stars in my book. He was caring and compasionnate. Hats off to Applewood. more

Outrageously Expensive 8/12/2011

I called Applewood Plumbing to install a garbage disposal in one of my rental properties, which was causing the dishwasher to back up and leak water all over the kitchen floor. Of course this happened on a Sunday, so not knowing who to call in an emergency, I called Applewood. Their call center was very courteous and they could arrange for a plumber the next morning. I was impressed with the speed of response. I bought a new disposal at Home Depot to save some money. The technician was also very courteous, prompt, thorough, and competent. But here comes the bad news. Their pricing is horrendously, ridiculously, outrageously EXPENSIVE. Over $400 just to install the disposal and nothing else! It took less than an hour -- great! -- but at their flat fee rate, I think $400 is gouging. Yes, they were responsive, but had I taken a little extra time to find someone else, I could have paid under $100. I will NEVER use Applewood again. BUYER BEWARE -- get a quote on the phone before you hire them. more

Great workmanship 8/11/2011

Our air conditioner went out. We called Applewood Plumbing heating and Electric. The young man showed up the same day, and on time. He not only put in a new motor in,but also checked our themostat, and water heater. He did not charge extra, and did a very good job. We do not own our house. He was nice enough to call the landlord, and explain everything he did and why. This was something he did not have to do. He went beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend this company. Thank You more

Applewood Heating and Plumbing are the best. Quality workmanship, very friendly, highly skilled professional work, on time and on budget. I would recommend them for all of your heating, airconditioning and plumbing work. more

Great advance service on tech arrival 8/10/2011

I especially like the way Applewood calls in advance to say their tech is on his way, AND they offer to e-mail a photo of the tech. These days, this is a good security feature and I know of no other firm doing it. The tech puts on slippers over his shoes to keep from bringing dirt into the house--another plus. more

Raked over the coals 8/9/2011

I have to start off saying that the service at this place is great, punctual, calling before arriving, wearing the little booties over their work boots inside. They even email you a picture of the tech before arriving. I was loving that part until we got down to the pricing. \r \r This place is sooooooooooooo overpriced its not even funny, and what makes it work is I was dumb enough to go along with it. Our basement toilet was clogged, we bought an auger from Home Depot and tried it ourselves with no such luck. We debated going back to rent the motorized machine and pull the toilet, but neither of us had done that before and figured might as well call a plumber because it couldnt be too much. So Applewood to the rescue. \r \r Well, $750.00 later for augering(which we already did), pulling the toilet, running the machine down it and putting the toilet back on. And after all that I got a good spill about how he can repair my toilet because the tank isnt up to code blah blah blah. Told him to shove all that and was rewarded with a lovely Applewood magnet notepad and jar opener. Trust me, that made the $750.00 worth it.(that is sarcasm if you cant tell). \r \r Yes, it is my fault for being stupid and agreeing to go through with the work. I knew plumbing was expensive and started checking around. I've gotten 2 other quotes that would have be less then 250. So please, please save yourself your hard earned money and don't be as guiliable as I was, call around first because this place rakes you over the coals with how expensive they are. more

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE 8/8/2011

It was quite good to receive an honest and highly professional service. The job was completed on time. more

Way overpriced, buyer beware. 8/5/2011

Extremely high prices with an emphasis on selling their parts. I was quoted $1450 by Applewood to repair my air conditioner and thankfully declined to have them fix it. Another company repaired it for $210 and offered great service with integrity. I called Applewood based on the high number of positive reviews here. When the tech arrived he offered a lightning fast diagnosis of the problem and quoted $1450 for the labor/parts. As he began the repair, I called the manufacturer of my air conditioner and learned that the parts were still under the manufacturers warranty. I explained this to the Applewood tech and he said he could only use the parts on his truck and would not be able to assist with warranty parts. I requested he stop working (he had just started) and paid him the $69 service call fee and it was the best decision I have made in a while. I had to endure a couple more days of heat until another company could come out but they accurately diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about 25 minutes for $210. It did NOT need all the parts Applewood was trying to sell and it became very clear to me that Applewood was taking advantage of my situation (no air cond. on a super hot day) to sell me things I did not need. They appear professional, organized, are prompt and I'm sure they would have had my system working but they quoted me 7X the price it should have been! I would NOT RECOMMEND Applewood and urge anyone who is considering them to beware of being sold equipment they don't need. I have shared this story with several people and heard of many similar situations of Applewood overcharging customers. Buyers beware! more
