Appearances

All of my friends with great haircuts go here. That's actually how I found this place! I always ask people with great haircuts where they get it done. When I was new to the area they all said...Appearances. and that Julie did their hair. I've gone to many of the stylists there, but I have ot say that Julie is the best. If you're in a real bind you can oftentimes get a same day appointment which is great! The only caveat is the parking- especially because the John street parking garage is down these days! At least it was last time I was on campus! more

I've had my share of bad haircuts in life. Horrible bowl cuts, uneven bangs, someone even tried to crimp my hair once. So I, like most women, am now incredibly picky about who cuts my hair. I desperately needed a haircut when I first moved here a few years ago. And while walking to get a sandwich at the now vacant Panera, I passed Appearances and decided to give it a shot. They were busy but they still managed to squeeze me in as a walk-in. My stylist was friendly and we chatted about all kinds of things while she gave me a fantastic haircut. People complimented me for weeks, it was great. So when I decided I needed a drastic hairstyle change I went back to find this stylist. She wasn't in, but they again were able to find someone to take me as a walk in. Linh Hopkins gave me yet another fantastic haircut, which got compliments for a month instead of just a few weeks. I now believe that the standards at this salon are just high for all employees, so there's no way you'll be disappointed with your service. The prices are comparable to other salons in the area, the service is fantastic, and they offer the usual range of salon services. Go walk in and see for yourself how high their standards are. more
