I ate here for the first time a couple of years ago and am officially HOOKED! They've done some mild changes since that are apsolutely WONDERFUL! Staff is great, food has always been perfect. Owners are charming and always there to make sure you are taken care of. I'm here 3-4 times a week!!!! Definately my home away from home!!! Pros: TWO THUMBS UP! more

Awesome Food and service 2/17/2008

I love A.P Barbaras! Great food. Delicious Sweet potato Fries! I never cook and have put AP on my speed dial! I eat there at least once a week and never get sick of the great service or selection of food. Pros: Sweet potato fries more

Disappointing, Overpriced 9/19/2007

I used to be a big fan when they first opened years ago. Haven't been for a long time, and read reviews and accolades on breakfasts. So my husband and I went. I had their ""specialty"" - the eggs benedict. The yolk was cooked all the way through and pale yellow like it was hard-boiled. Waitress claimed other people complain about undercooked eggs, so that's what they do. Besides that, the whole thing was just so-so, and certainly not worth the average $9 price for a breakfast meal. It was busy, but service was slow and the whole experience was not to be repeated. What a bummer. I left feeling like I was ripped off of $20. Pros: Location, Parking Cons: Food, Prices more

One of the worst 9/4/2007

Went here a couple years back and still joke about the horrible food. Not only was the food not worth the price, the quality was at best that of a cafeteria. The service wasn't good either. Cons: food, price, service more

Great comfort food - new menu - not so good 8/29/2007

UPDATE: Lee, the original owner of AP Barbaras, is back and the new name is the Local Yolk and, once again, it's a great restaurant. This is a good restaurant that could be great. The staff has a great attitude. The menu is good, it was better before they decided to get fancy. The breakfasts are still great as are the lunchs. The dinners? Well the new menu is now a little weird. This was the BEST PLACE to have fried chicken north of the Homestead (on Alki) until they decided to change it and make it a little too fancy. Now it's just OK. Why they'd take such a popular item as fried chicken and change it I'll never know AND they serve garlic mashed potatoes with it, hmm... garlic and southern fired chicken? There should be a law. I'm thinking they hired someone who thinks he's Food Network chef and he's thinking he's in a gourmet restaurant. They need to stick to what they do best - comfort food. Try - Any of the breakfasts, the gyros, the tuna melt, the 'lemon-rice' soup, the salads, the fried chicken (tell them no garlic mashed potatoes and none of the weird sauce they've decided to pour on the chicken (no I'm not making this up). Avoid - The Italian food. Pros: MOST of the food on the menu, the personalities of the wait staff, the portions Cons: The cooks are inconsistent, it gets REAL busy in the mornings more

Great Family Restaurant!!! 8/7/2007

Whether you are with your man/woman or with the entire family, ths place is GREAT! There is something for everyone here. The new look is refreshing and the staff is wonderful. A little jem in the middle of corporate-ville!! Family owned and operated, sometimes you'll see the little grandchild helping out! :) Breakfast till 3!! We can sleep in and still make it!! Sandwiches and pastas to die for!!! Steaks & ribs that make you forget about the BIG names...My favorate place EVER!!!!! Pros: something for everyone more

Treasure in Lynnwood 6/20/2002

Pleasant atmosphere - friendly, helpful staff, wonderful meal. The Eggs Benedict is awesome...most restaurants just don't put the effort into this particular dish. The only other restaurant in the greater Seattle area that Could fix it correctly is now out of business. (Remember Alexander's??? Best e v e r Eggs Benedict. Maybe its thr same the chef!) I've never been disappointed in the selections or the service...says a lot when the local chain restaurants have taken their (former) customers for granted. Pros: quality food, owner loves his work, family business Cons: can get noisy but ok, its in Lynnwood more
