Before 8 o'clock this bar is almost 9/2/2012

Before 8 o'clock this bar is almost always relatively quiet and a perfect place for friends to have a drink in a dark and funky ( in the good way ) bar. Thurs-Sat it gets lively here and all the pool tables fill up by 8, but it's still possible to get a drink in under 10 min… good for downtown Abq. Bottom line, I love this bar. At will run you .50 more a drink but most of the As$#oles won't climb the stairs. more

My favorite bar 6/23/2010

The drinks are strong, the staff is super friendly. The crowd is very Hipster for the most part. The music is enjoyable. I like this bar much more than others I have been to in Albuquerque and is the only bar I have found that I enjoy to frequent regularly. Love it! 10/14/2009

I enjoy the pool tables and the fantastic beer selection. The atmosphere is relaxed and tends to attract a respectable crowd that is neither ghetto nor pretentious. The female bartenders and waitresses are my favorite in town too, very friendly and helpful. Pros: location, people, pool tables, beer selection more

Downtown Albuquerque's Finest 1/26/2004

Anodyne is easily one of the best places to spend a weekend night in Albuquerque. With over 100 beers to choose from, any beer snob will be satisfied. Quality pool tables and a jukebox round out what anodyne provides. On the other hand if you're a hipster this is one of the places to see and be seen. At times the place is overrun with these indie-emo types but they add a sense of style to an otherwise bland downtown scene. Pros: Over 100 Beers , Hip Crowd, Laid-Back atmosphere Cons: Understaffed , Strange Bathrooms, smoky as hell more

Like having a big pool room 3/26/2003

......a really big pool room at your house. The booths and couches are a nice touch but it gets a bit smoky here later at night. The Anodyne is just a good place to go chill. You may meet somebody there eventually but don't count on it. Overall good place and Jeanette is the best bartender anywhere in ABQ. Pros: Comfy, Not Crowded Cons: Smoky, No food more
