Animal Lovers Pet Salon

I have been taking my dog to Animal Lovers for almost 10 years now ever since my dog was a puppy. They were recommended to me at the time and I have been going there about once a month for all of those years. Chip and his staff are, without a doubt, ""Animal Lovers"" and they take fantastic care of each and every pet that arrives. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and from the person who washes the pets to the Groomers and the Receptionist, they care very much for all of the pets and take care of them as if they were their own. My dog actually misbehaved emotionally a couple of times and they simply let me know and continue to accept him back with open arms. I really appreciate the care and love they give my dog and I will continue to bring him all the way from downtown Streeterville to their location at Clyborn, just South of Fullerton, on a monthly basis. Even though this salon is kinda hidden, it's definitely worth seeking out. The staff is very professional and helpful, and my two dogs are always excited to stop by for grooming. Why go to a 'big box' pet store for grooming when you get personalized caring attention from Chip and Company? Montone 'the bruiser' Rosenfeld can be aggressive and feisty at times, but Chip has a way of putting Montone at ease. Pets can sense a caring environment-- and Animal Lovers really does it well. We have been taking Montone to Animal Lovers since he was 3 months old-- 4 years and many haircuts later, I can honestly say we are lucky to have the folks at Animal Lovers keeping Montone looking good. My dog and I have enjoyed the wonderful pet services at Animal Lovers for more than 15 years. There isn't anyone I would trust more than owner, Chip, with my darling dogs! I've also used his at-home boarding services on many occasions. The staff at the salon is so caring - working with frightened animals - and always enthusiastically greeting two and four-footed customers. You will do your dog and/or cat a favor by having them groomed by Chip and his wonderful staff. more

We brought our goldendoodle puppy to Animal Lovers to fix the awful haircut she received from another groomer. I called on Friday and was able to book an appointment Saturday morning. I showed Chip, the owner, pictures of the cut I wanted and he was very receptive. When I came back to pick up my puppy, which did take about 2 hours longer than expected (understandable since it was a busy Saturday), I was shocked by how amazing she looked! Chip had really done an excellent job of interpreting the pictures. My puppy was thoroughly cleaned and clipped and looked totally comfortable in the salon. They obviously took great care of her in my absence and I can't wait to take her back again. Pros: Great staff, beautiful work more

I've been going to Animal Lovers for 2 years, and they do an excellent job. I have two very small poodles and my wife and I are both very particular about their haircuts. After a few tries at big Petco type places and watching some 16 year old dropout take them from me, grab an electric razor, and go to town I started searching for someplace that had a professional who knew more about animal grooming than me. We stumbled across Chip (the owner and groomer) by sheer dumb luck on our way home one day and decided to give him a try. I have brought my cat in multiple times and I am very comfortable bringing her here. I used to take her to another place and I asked that they not bathe her, as she is always traumatized by this kind of experience. The ended up bathing her and charged me for it--after I told them I specifically asked them not to and I didn't feel that I should have to pay they would not work with me at all. I found Animal Lover's and they have been very easy to work with, they are to the point, and they do a good job. I have stopped in while my cat is being groomed and they work fast because she is squirmy, but they also pay attention to the detail of the cut. One time she stopped breathing on the table and they gave her mouth-to-mouth to revive her and she has been fine since. That kind of dedication to animals is why I feel safe when I drop her off. I have never been treated so rudely. I made a first appointment for my dog yesterday. The receptionist told me that she would schedule an appointment at 11:30, but that the timing could be flexible, so we could show up whenever so long as we were there within 4 hours of closing. My fiance arrived at 1:15 (they close at 5:30), but the owner refused to groom my dog because we were ""late."" I never got a message from them that we should not come. When I called to speak to the owner, he wouldn't let me speak to explain the misunderstanding, interrupted me and then hung up on me.
