When I first adopted my two kitties, I brought them over to Animal Hospital of Newport Hills.
At first I thought everyone there was nice.. My two kitties had their first set of shots. One of them was extremely allergic to the shots. They told me that they would put in their notes that she was allergic to one of the shots, so next time around the shots would be split up. I asked if it was necessary to give her the shots since both of my cats are indoor and BLIND. They insisted saying they need shots, even though I told them one was allergic, along with being INDOOR ONLY. After that incident, I stopped going to Animal Hospital of Newport Hills.
Their customer service is horrible. I came in one day, and then made a follow up appointment the next day with the same vet, receptionist, etc. None of them remembered me or my cat. At that time they told me that I did not need to get vaccinations for my cat since she was indoor, why did they insist the day before she get them then?
In their notes they had what I received from the Humane Society about the history of the cats. Since both are blind, there were details as to their underdeveloped eyes. The vet was very rude and was telling me my cat has some eye problems. She did not even look at the chart and wanted to run tests, give medication for my cat's eyes. I told her that my cat is blind and that her eyes were never fully developed and if she had looked through the chart, she would have known that. Plus she did not remember why I came back the following day for a check up due to my cat's allergic reaction to the vaccinations.
I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. All my friends and family who have taken their pets to Animal Hospital of Newport Hills have stopped once they saw how they treated my cats and when my cat who had allergic reactions to the medication had to be put to sleep because she had uncontrollable seizures.
