As a long time, die-hard Warhol fan and owner of a couple authentic drawings, the museum was nothing less than a total let down. The majority of the art on display wasn't even from Warhol but were works from some woman named Deborah Kass who replicated Warhol's works. I didn't go to the Warhol Museum and pay a bunch of money to see copies of Warhol's works!!!!!! Drove all the way from Cleveland to Pittsburgh just to visit the museum, something I had been hoping to do for years. Then THREW $50 away on admissions to the museum. Ten bucks of that to get my toddler in and the museum never even told me they had activities for kids in the basement. In fact, all the staff stands around and reads books. If you wanted to walk out with one of THE FEW actual Warhol's in the place, probably wouldn't be too hard.... Gift shop was tiny and grossly overpriced and their lack of inventory was yet another huge disappointment..... All these people seem to be concerned about is getting your money, what a disrespect to Warhol, and a slap in the face to his legacy, VERY DISAPPOINTED.................. more

The Jewel of Pittsburgh... Inspirational and unforgettable. My favorite place in the city and a true work of art. From the Silver Clouds to Andy Warhol's films, a must for any lover of the arts or history. Not only is it a beautiful exhibition of works by the master of Pop, but it also keeps up with the new and fabulous, as Andy himself would have done. Fresh 21st century artists featured regularly and a modern gift shop as endearingly kitschy as the stuff Warhol once collected. You haven't seen Pittsburgh until you've seen the Andy Warhol Museum! more

AMAZING 5/14/2012

I passed this building so many times over the past 2 years but never went in. It wasnt until I read the cover story of it in one of those free mags at Starbucks that i gave it a chance. It was so cool! Way beyond the soup cans and Marilyns, this was an experience to remember. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves art. -Lily and Allie more

WTF Gayberry 10/8/2011

Come on people what the fudge are you thinking. I was expecting art and ended up in Gayville with a side of ""my girlfriend has a pickle"". this is not a place for kid, Freaks maybe not kid or anyone with a sense of taste. Art you say is ones passion, but all I saw was a faddish with Brillo pads and tomato soup. Oh and ""my girlfriend has a pickle"". Boring as all Hellas. Someone please donate some art to this waste of a building. I found more interesting things in the toilet like corn. $30 down the drain but I did take away something, disappointment. more

great museum! 5/27/2008

This is such a fantastic museum that really catches the spirit of the artist. Fun and friendly, not to be missed. more

A must for art fans 5/2/2003

Everything, and I mean everything Andy has done is here, right down to his doodles. The average person will seem overwhelmed with it, but any person that loves art must see one of America's and Pittsburgh's best artist. Don't go on a weekday during school hours thinking it will be quiet. There are a lot of noisy kids on school trips. Tell them about the floating pillow balloons and then run the other way. Pros: art Cons: field trips more

Friday nights! 7/2/2002

Friday nights at the Warhol are usually pretty fun. There is always something going on on Friday during the summer months. The museum itself is ""interesting."" I like many of the exhibits, but then some, to me, are really out there. It is really worth the time to go, but it is not something that I would need to go to every year. (Maybe once every couple of years.) Pros: Friday Fun, Laid Back Cons: Really out there more

A destination in Pittsburgh 6/12/2002

The place is really neat. It's the place to go in Pittsburgh. It shows works and information about Warhol that isn't broadly known...the Time Capsules and Silver Clouds are a treat. Plus, the museum has Friday night happy hour every week. Very cool. more
