It's New Years Day 2010, and my Mother-in-Law and aunt want to try something different (they're from the south) so we decide on Indian food... We went to Amin because I wanted to show them how nice Brooklyn Heights is... But as it would turn out - this place is not a reflection.
As soon as we walked in our waiter/manager rudely told us ""No lunch special today""... As of yet we aren't sure if he thought we decided to eat in a place we couldn't afford, or was simply lying.
He then began changing the menu... We asked about the combination platter, he told us it didn't include things that the menu clearly said it did... We ask him about the wines, he ups the prices ""all glasses of wind are 5.95"" - even the ones that say $3.95
After that, we were scared to ask him a question, because he was so rude -reminded me of the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. To make a long strory short, we eventually got our food, which was the WORST indian food that I've ever had period.... not the worst in Brooklyn, Not the worst in NYC, I mean the worst I've had PERIOD - and that includes Williamsburg Viriginia, which isn't know for their ethnic food. It tasted like they gave us yesterday's left overs, which I wouldn't be surprised at based on their service to us.
After all that was said and done, he made us wait for the check until everyone was done eating and he collected all the dishes from the table... then he didn't want to accept our debit card!
I strongly urge you NOT to chance this place... Some might have good experiences here, but I'm sure there are other Indian restaurants that don't have reviews like this one.
It was so bad that I felt the need to return to the restaurant after dropping my In-law's off at the airport, just so that I could get the owners name an and number... I look forward to that conversation.
Pros: In Brooklyn Heights
Cons: poor quality Indian Food... Absolutley AWFUL service
