America's Best Karate has played a huge role in my life, and has made me physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger. I have been with America's Best Karate for about 11 years now, and I gained so much throughout the years at the academy. Master Waldschmidt, Master Mustafic, and Master Lemat are the greatest mentors anyone can have, and have contributed greatly to my success. I highly recommend America's Best Karate to everyone because they truly build one black belt at a time. more

Both my kids have been taking classes at ABK for 2 years now and they love it. The studio strives to teach not only the art of martial arts, but also valuable life skills through a series of free seminars. My kids' self esteem, self discipline, and focus has improved greatly. Thanks ABK! more

Awesome Tae Kwon Do Studio With Great Instructors 12/22/2011

I started taking Tae Kwon Do when I was younger because my friend was doing it, so I joined his studio. I wasn't that into it so my parents transfered me to America's Best Karate.\r \r What a difference! The instructors at ABK made we love coming to class again and always challenged me to train hard and do my best. I met a lot of great people here and learned so much over the years that I trained there. Getting my black belt took a lot of training and hard work, and I definitely learned a lot about my self in the process.\r \r Although I am now away at college, I will always remember my time at ABK. more

Great Studio! Wonderful Experience! 12/22/2011

America's Best Karate(ABK) has helped shaped me into the woman I am today. I trained at ABK for over 8 years and it was like my second home. The instructors created such a welcoming atmosphere. They really wanted each person to succeed. ABK has not only taught me how to defend myself, but it taught me patience, courage, perseverance, and integrity. I looked forward to each class because of the instructors teaching it, the people in the class, and the knowledge that the instructors offered to us. I really loved that America's Best Karate focused on the students having fun. They offered classes for all ages and belts and even offered family classes! During my years of training, I created friendships with the other students and strengthened my relationships with my family members (since we all trained at ABK). If you want to learn martial arts while having fun and being safe, America's Best Karate is the place for you. You will learn how to defend yourself as well as virtues that will help make you a successful person in the future. more

Best Tae Kwon Do Studio in Los Gatos 12/22/2011

Growing up, I tried taking classes at every studio in Los Gatos with little enjoyment until attending America's Best Karate. After a few years at another studio, I finally joined ABK in a very easy transition. They allowed me to continue easily with my belt progression instead of starting back from the very beginning. The instructors' teachings were phenomenal and, though very difficult and frustrating at times, they allowed me to fully develop into my max potential. I still consider many of the instructors that I was close with to be some of my biggest role models in life. After many years of hard work and great leadership I achieved my goal of receiving a black belt. It is hard to say that I could have gotten such great treatment and guidance at any other studio. Sometimes I even regret retiring from my passion for Tae Kwon Do, but I am sure that if I continued with my studies it would be at America's Best Karate. more

Amazing Studio 9/27/2010

I don't usually write reviews, but I just happened to be looking for directions to another ABK when I noticed the reviews. \r \r I am surprised by any negative reviews that this studio might get. The studio is packed with students (at all times). \r \r Personally, I can care less if my child can fight, he is 11. He enjoys classes, and has improved in both his confidence and his self discipline. He is getting better grades and making more friends (so he shouldn't have to fight). He talks about being like Mr. Mustafic (instructor all the time) and Master Waldschmidt is without a doubt the Tony Robbins of martial arts instructors. His energy and passion is incredible. I can't recommend this studio enough, but really don't take my word or anybody's word for that matter. Check it out for yourself. You will be glad you did. more

Your Kid's Will Love It, mine do! 9/17/2010

I have two daughters who both achieved receiving their 2nd Degree Black Belts at America's Best Karate. Both daughters enjoyed the classes, instructors and everything ABK had to offer. My husband and myself feel that both girls are more confident, great attitudes, and overall awareness of the beauty of Karate. Why would you not take your kids there! I really do speak from experience, and I never had a problem with my girls not wanting to attend class. They made new friends and that includes the instructors. My girls attended ABK for over 7 years, and I must say, they have had a wonderful experience training at this studio. I read the other Reviews. Those reviews sound like ads to me, plugging other studios. more

Black Belt Factory, do not waist time, sign them up for Judo or Jiu Jitsu 3/5/2008

this is your common Black Belt Factory after making money. They do not teach full speed Karate and do not allow kids to practice what they teach so they can actually use it. Any Judo or Jiu Jitsu student with one year of training would waiste a black belt produced from this school. This school is all about money Pros: Your child will not get hurt, will get lots of pretty colored belts Cons: they will not learn how to protect themselves, you will be throwing thousands of dollars away more

great at taking your money, not so great at teach martial arts 2/8/2008

Pretty simple, these guys have a sales pitch like a used car dealer. Your child will learn a bit about respect, honor etc. and they will learn some martial art techniques, but not in a manner that teaches them how to actually use them. Your child will never learn how to block a p unch, kick etc. that is moving any faster than slow motion. You will be sold a lot of pads and equipment that you must purchase from them, which you won't ever need. Your child will wear them, but won't ever need them. If you show up every week and pay for the tests, you get your belts. It is as simple as that. If you miss some classes and don't have enough hours to get your belt, then don't worry, they will sell you one. Honestly, if you just pay a few hundred dollars for your child to attend their summer camp, your child automatically gets their next belt!\r The contract is histerical, if you don't committ to a 30 month program, which has no outs in it, then you will have to pay more than 2x the rate. Which of course is much more than you would pay at any other school. If you sign for 30 months, then your rate would be in-line with other month-to-month rates.\r \r They also have a lot of seminars for weapons etc. where they get your kids all excited to attend only your jammed in a corner each time. The cost of the seminars is more than your monthly fee, unless you bring another little friend along that they can try their pitch on, if you do that, then it is free. Pros: good discipline, self confidence instruction Cons: if your hoping your child will learn self defense then this isn't it more

America's Best Karate 9/21/2007

I have a very bad experience with cancellation. Be very careful what you are signing. People working there are very pushy, they know how to make your kids wanting to enroll. After five days you comitted to pay full price for six months even if your kids are unhappy there. I wasted lots of money for two kids because I called a few hours late. Advice I got: "" You have to force your kids to come"". more
