Editorial review from Citysearch 9/5/2014

I have been using Greg and his shop for years. My dogs have been happy there, well cared for and frankly not a bad grooming job. Every grooming shop will have horror stories, and I'm sure there are a few here, but I have never been disappointed in how my dogs looked, or how they were taken care of while at ASODG. more

GREAT Job 4/4/2012

They did a great job with BOTH of my dogs. Friendly service right when you walk in the door. We discussed the styles for my dogs. They were ready when they said they would be and looked AMAZING with a kerchief and bow to go! Reasonably priced too...friendly from start to finish!!! Pros: null Cons: null more

Good Place To Learn Dog Grooming 11/30/2011

I am currently attending American School of Dog Grooming and about half way finished. My life-long friend attended this school ten years ago and now owns a very successful groom shop in Lafayette, Louisianan. I came to this school based on his recommendation, I am very glad I did. The school environment is professional and pleasant. I love the teaching style here, it is "hands on" teaching. Individual attention is great ,either Greg, Tiffany or Eric are always just a few feet away for assistance. This is a busy grooming school, I am never standing around waiting on a dog to come in to groom. I always have a dog on my grooming table, this is what is building my skill level. I would definitely recommend American School of Dog Grooming. Pros: null Cons: null more

Enroll With Confidence!!!! 8/12/2011

My daughter is graduating from the American School of Dog Grooming today. KUDOS and PROPS to Greg, Tiffany and Eric for laying the groundwork for an excellent future for their students. The school facility may be a bit cramped or 'dated', but the care given to the dogs and students is awesome! I've heard nothing but rave reviews from my daughter who loves what she does and is grateful for the instruction she's received. Mr. Brom, we don't share your views!! This is a wonderful career opportunity for kids out of high school or those seeking a fresh start in a relatively short time. The environment is friendly, I've seen the way they handle dogs, and I totally disagree with Mr Brom. Thanks all of you at ASDG for giving my kid a fabulous start! more

Do NOT enroll here !!!!!! 6/8/2011

Quit Defending Your Business 12/1/2010

The place is horrendous. The air ducts have probably never been professionally cleaned. The tubs have pipe to catch hair and the pipes have never been clean when I have gone in. They cut and clipper burn almost all of the dogs. They accept aggressive dogs which is not appropriate for students trying to learn. They are scared of getting bit therefore ask for help all the time. He makes 1000 dollars for every student that comes in. Then he charges to have the dogs clipped. He needs to spend a little bit of the fortune he makes and spruce up the place a bit. more

This place is in OKLAHOMA not the one in MICHIGAN 10/24/2010

(NOT MICHIGAN A.S.D.G )I work at a school with same name in Michigan and people keep wanting to know about things in the reviews that happen at this place in OKLAHOMA . They DON'T, DON'T, DON'T have anything to do with this place in OkLAHOMA . more

ASODG is a Safe Place for dogs 10/2/2010

I am a past student of the American School of Dog Grooming and now have my own successful dog grooming business. The owner/teacher, Greg, was always professional and his teaching skills are excellent! When I first started school, I was very impressed with how each and every dog was handled, down to a science. When a client brings a dog in, the dog is never once unattended nor unleashed, nor are they ever taken outside for any reason. There is absolutely no way that any dog could ever have gotton lost or loose, there are safety gates to prevent any dog from getting away once the owner has brought them inside, so to me, the ASODG statement makes way more sense then someone saying the school lost their dog, place blame where blame is due! more

THIS IS A REBUTAL TO "THEY LOST OUR DOG...OUR BABY" 9/27/2010

The groomer this woman is speaking of in this review is actually her step brother who works at The American School of Dog Grooming. She gave him permission to bring her dog with him to work that day and he was the one who lost control of the Shih Tzu she is speaking of. Her dog did not have a leash or collar on and sadly never even made it in the back door of the business where the employees enter, with her step brother, the employee. Rocket has been to the school on many previous occasions for the employee to groom on his own time and not in ANYWAY is A.S.O.D.G. liable for this. This review is slanderous and full of lies. She clearly has no descriptive information on how her dog was lost because she was not there when her family member lost her dog. She is clearly angry with her family member and taking it out on a business that had no responsibility for her dog in the first place. Had she of brought her dog in the front door herself and been a paying customer, A.S.O.D.G. would have been liable. However this is not the case. NO dog has ever been lost at the A.S.O.D.G. DO NOT TRUST THIS REVIEW!!!! more

American School of Dog Grooming A++ 9/15/2010

I have been taking my dog here for over 10 years now. Not only does my little dog love going, the staff is always happy to see her. The prices are great and so is the haircut... every time. The owner even knows her by name now! I haven't gone any where else since I started coming here. Very pleased!! more

american school of dog grooming 7/26/2010

Been taking my 2 dogs here for about 5 years. Had a couple of bad haircuts, but hey it's a training school. My dogs have always been well taken care of here. In fact, we're taking our dogs there today. Pros: great prices friendly service Cons: can be hard to get appointment more

Looks are decieving 5/19/2009

This school should be shut down. I came in unanounced and was shocked that they couldn't find my pet, when they did he had the wrong index card and was getting the wrong haircut. When confronted the owner/teacher cussed me out in front of his students, dropping the F-bomb at me several times. I refused to pay, asked for my pet, and he said I wasn't getting my F-ing dog. I had to call 911. It was a tradgy! I My pets privates were injured by clippers and are now bruised and swollen; if they treated my dog like that while I was present, I hate to think what happens when no one is looking. I will be contacting the licensing board. Pros: a big fat NEGITIVE one star (i had to give rating to post) more

Only place I've ever taken my dogs 7/26/2007

Even though you might get a different groomer each time you go, the way they treat the dogs is great. All of my boys always get their grooming done here. Only one time was I disappointed in the cut when I picked him up, he was a lot shorter than I liked, but it grew out really nice....had a great shape. Pros: good job for a reasonable price Cons: hard to schedule on Saturdays....must schedule a week in advance (at least) more
