It saddens me to say that I am no longer with American Fitness Center. After meeting Bill at his house on Thursday (07/29/2010) morning, I was told that he was letting me go. Bill and I had a good conversation, I understand his decision. We both agreed to an amicable compensation for my departure after our 10AM meeting at American Fitness Center, Thursday morning. This was not my choice, nor Bill’s first choice; however it was the decision that was made by Bill.\r I have received several calls and emails from members and former co-workers and I appreciate your support and encouragement, some of you have also informed me of some of the rumors Suz & Bill might be starting. I will not sink to their level, so I had many things documented as proof incase their memory failed them which has happened more than not. I have attached a signed statement from Bill and myself stating the facts (black and white) regarding my dismissal 07/29/2010. As this is proof, I just want to say again, I did not quit – as I have heard this is being said. Bill also said I walked out two weeks ago. Most of us are aware that Bill was in an incident (self afflicted) and we did not see him for three weeks, what I think he is referring to is when Suz fired me on June 10, 2010. I filed for unemployment, Bill called me on June 14th to ask me to come back, we agreed to my return. I have a signed statement from Bill and I attached for you to look at as well regarding my dismissal and return in June 2010\r I will miss my co-workers & the members, Bill, the Friends & Relationships I made there in the time I had there. I met my wife there just over 7 years ago and my heart has always been with this club. I will miss you all dearly. I have to Believe that I have been blessed with the opportunity I was given there and what I have. I wish the members, employees and Bill the best, I am sure I will still talk and see some of you in the future. \r I wish American Fitness Center the best, but know that it has a tough road ahead still. I tried my best to deal with everything I knew about, unfortunately there were some things that I did not know about and was even lied to by Bill and Suz. I can only fix what I know is broken. I will also send some emails and documents for you to take a look at for yourself.\r \r Again, everything is the truth and backed by proof, see for yourself and then make your own opinion of it.\r \r Like Dave says, “Funny the way it is, if you think about it…” Until next time!\r \r Yours in health,\r \r Mark \r Cell 847-293-4641\r more

Great Health Club - Keep up the great job! 11/14/2008

I might have let things slip a little since college, I had not exercised in years. I was not comfortable with larger person in the mirror staring back at me. Waking up with a sore back everyday, I decided to do something about.\r \r I joined American Fitness Center in Ingleside, IL. I was given a New Member Orientation where a personal trainer (Nicole) showed me how to use all the equipment, this made it easier getting started - I did not want to look like a fool. Nicole was very helpful, giving me suggestions, offering help with nutrition, and encouraging the use of group fitness classes. I was working out about 3 times per week cardio and strength training (1 hour total) each day for 4 weeks and I lost 10 pounds. I felt like I was ready to try group fitness classes - I started with a Spin class and it was awesome (pushed me like I had wanted to do myself but I could not) then I tried a MuscleWorks class, Turbokick class. They are unbelievable. The instructors are fun, I ma covered in sweat coming out of having the best workout in my life and smiling! I even tried Yoga and Pilates. \r \r It became addictive and I would rearrange my schedule around class times. I would only workout maybe 4 times a month on the cardio or strength equipment now because I did not want to miss a class. I was now working out 5 days a week, taking up to two classes per day by the end of the third month and I am now down 40 POUNDS!!! I feel better than when I was 18, my back is not sore anymore, I have more energy, I will. I have made many friends at Amercian Fitness Center along the way, everyday I came in the staff was awesome knowing my name and congratulated me on my results along the way. I feel very comfortable at the person staring back in the mirror today and I owe a lot to American Fitness Center and a terrific staff! Thank you - AFC - Keep It Up!\r \r Paul Quinn\r Pros: Staff, Cleanliness, Members, Classes, Personal Trainers, Cons: NOt enough time more
