Where can I get Service for my Walker? 3/24/2012

Hey Gravely97 or anyone, I have a question for you. I have a Walker MT20 that I bought from Ron before he sold. I've been happy. But, I also was having issues with Bob and company. Last year his wife was rude and somewhat stand-offish when I needed service. Their cost for my tune up was almost $400. I was online this morning looking for his number because I need to get my machine serviced and I came across all of these reviews. I am not shocked at all to read these. I'd like to take my business elsewhere. You had mentioned about other agencies being able to service Walker mowers in the L.V. Where can I go to bring my Walker for better or more affordable service? Thanks for your help, JerseyWalker more

I must agree 3/11/2012

When Ron sold this place it quickly went down hill, The new owner Bob has no experience in this business and it shows. The woman who works the counter is just as bad, After dealing with Ron for 20 years American Lawn is so poorly run and has no management. They dont have the equipment in stock and try to force what they do have on you. I was taking my equipment in for service because I have dealt with Dan for many years and trust his work, he is the only reason to go to American Lawn. On a recent and my last visit I needed to talk to Dan about some repair work and was told by Bob that I could no longer talk to him because he is working. WTF? Thousands spent over the years and this guy tells me that! Take some advice Bob, take a shower, stop coming to work with the red eyes and get some management skills before this place goes under.Thankfully there are Gravely and Walker dealers close in the area so there is no need for me to return. Seems that a lot of the valleys landscapers have done the same. What a shame. How do you lend out a customers machine that you were trying to sell and let it get destroyed as todolio says. Wow!! Thats managment. more

I had a similar experience to the 1st reviewer 2/21/2009

Interesting but I had the same experience as eze117....seems like a recurring theme at this place. Not sure what going back to discuss will do after a few bad experiences. more

eze117 needs to come over and tell me about his mower in person. DAN 2/13/2009

This does not tell the whole story, anytime eze117 would like to talk to me about his mower he should come on over to the shop before he writes this fantasy story. more

Avoid this place 8/22/2008

I've been going to what was previously Lauchners for over 10 years for tuneups. They always did a great job for a reasonable rate. I'd get my lawnmower back in good shape and would service it every 1 - 2 years. Not the case since they changed owners in the last year or so. I took my lawnmower there for a regular tune up and paid $140. I thought fine I hadn't taken it in over 2 years so that made sense given wear and tear. I started cutting my lawn and the mower would turn off by itself. Mind you the lawn wasn't high at all and was a bit wet. Moist lawn never caused my lawnmower to shut off. I took it back and he told me they'd look at it. The young man who isn't very knowledgeable about servicing mowers told me that if he felt it wasn't in good shape he wouldn't have tuned it up for $140 and there was probably something minor off. Got it back a 2nd time w/ a minor fix only to find out the same issue...mower is turning off. Took it back a 3rd time. This time he said they couldn't find anything and the mechanic even cut the grass and it was fine. Typical service response when they have no answers. $140 down the drain for a lawnmower that was running fine before I got it serviced. I won't go back there again... more
