I got recommended to this practice by my hair stylist, nonetheless. I had just moved to the area when I found out I was pregnant. I got pregnant while taking birth control, so I was very upset, but Dr. Hsiao was very kind while sitting me down when I first met him, explaining the reason why this may have occurred. I never once had a bad experience at this office. When I went in to labor, I was terrified, Dr. Hsiao was on call for the night. He came in and calmed me down and talked me through everything. He then explained to the nurses how much of a sweetheart I am, and they all took extremely good care of me. I ended up being at 10 cm for about 5 hours because I was too tired to do anything. Olivia's heart rate dropped dramatically and stayed low for a few minutes, Dr. Bashuk came in and explained that the baby needed to come out now, and gave me the option of either trying for a suction delivery or emergency c-section. He hooked up the vaccum and 1 push later, out she came. He was great. After everything was all said and done, he gave me a huge hug and my baby a hug. Then after my second day there, Dr. Bills came upstairs to check on me and my baby, and gave her a hug and myself as well and told me how beautiful she was. I had an incredible experience with each and every doctor, and when I decide to have my next child, I will most definitely be returning to this office. Pros: Professional, understanding doctors. Sadly, a practice is not only the doctor. However, the office staff was rude, did not return calls about billing errors.I had to escalate things with my insurance company. Instead of having a human being call me back, they insisted on sending a letter. I asked REPEATEDLY to speak to someone. No luck. (This is over a $6 interest charge) I attempted to resolve situation, no response (shocker). I had an appt, was kept waiting - no one would address it with me personally - wasted my time - leaving me at the front desk for 45 minutes. I visited Alliance OBGYN based on the positive reviews here at Citysearch. Dr. Hsiao took time to speak with me in his office before the exam, he discussed any questions and concerns. He was patient, relaxed, and professional. I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Hsiao. My annual exam was quick and painless. I visited Alliance OBGYN based on the positive reviews here at Citysearch. Dr. Hsiao took time to speak with me in his office before the exam, he discussed any questions and concerns. He was patient, relaxed, and professional. I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Hsiao. My annual exam was quick and painless. The problem I encountered was actually with billing. At the time of my visit, Dr. Hsiao and I discussed the possibility of an IUD. He said he would have his office contact my insurance company and let me know what I would have to pay. I told him this was fine, but I wanted to get a quote before scheduling the procedure (to make sure it fit within our budget.) Unfortunately, my insurance company would not cover any of the cost, so my husband and I decided not to proceed with the IUD. I never scheduled an appointment to have the IUD placed, and I did not at any point approve the procedure. Alliance OBGYN still billed me for the IUD. When I called to let them know that I never agreed to have the IUD placed due to the cost, they said they would send it back, but if I ever wanted it in the future, they would charge me an additional $25 fee since I cancelled this order. $25 definitely is not a lot of money, but I'm confused about what this $25 is supposed to cover. In a way, it feels like some sort of penalty for cancellation (even though I never agreed to the IUD in the first place.) I'm not terribly comfortable with the billing practices here after this experience, so I will not be returning. Anytime you call Alliance OBGYN office the front desk women sound very glum, and always have very sour disposition. Apparently they dont take into consideration that when people call there, they are asking questions about the customers/clients actual health and well being. If you dont want to work there, you shouldnt. Because if I take the time to go and get work done, when I call to ask about it you need to be able and willing to tell me about it, and not give me attitude.... The front desk needs a makeover. I have some horrific experiences with obgyns but wheb I met dr bills I was amazed! I've had doctors be painfully rough, rude, doctors with no nurse present and a doctor who felt around ""downstairs"" for over 15 mins when nothing was wrong. Dr bills was gentle, very in tune to my feelings and he made sure before and after everything that I was extremely comfortable! I would reccommend him to anyone and everyone I know!!!! Dr. Hsiao has delivered both of my babies at Northside Hospital. During my second pregnancy I developed this rare condition which caused me to lose hearing every 2 weeks (the ENT specialist said it's due to the fluid edema in my eardrum). Dr. Hsiao was very patient and took out a prescription pad and wrote everything down to communicate with me. A routine OB visit ended up being almost thirty minutes but Dr. Hsiao never rushed me or looked annoyed. He also scheduled my induction during the week I was able to hear so I wouldn't be deaf on the day of my delivery and not hear my baby cry for the first time. My husband has KP Insurance from his job and we are limited to see the doctors from the HMO. I recently had to go through a terrible experience with an early pregnancy complication. After 4 visits and numerous lab work and ultrasounds with the HMO doctors I still have no clue what's going on with my pregnancy. My sister told me to see Dr. Hsiao for a second opinion. I know my insurance limited who I can see but I was willing to pay anything just to know what's going on with my body. Dr. Hsiao did not disappoint at all... he took his time and talked me through what a blighted ovum is and personally performed an ultrasound and explained to me what happened to my pregnancy. He discussed the lab work I needed and the different options I have now while handing me tissue after tissue ( I was so embarassed that I lost it! I am sure I was crying for at least 15 minutes..). He never walked out of the room like he was too busy for me or rushed me out of the exam room and that meant a lot to me. That one visit with him was worth more than the four five visits I had with my HMO. To my surprise when I was checking out at the front desk I saw that Dr. Hsiao has given me a big discount on the visit since he knew I was paying out of pocket and is going through a difficult time. He has brought me hope and compassion in a difficult time and I am so grateful to have him care for me. I am switching insurance so when I am pregnant again I'll be able to see Dr. Hsiao from the very start!!! more

I just had my first appointment few days ago with Dr. Bills. He seemed to be very nice although he speaks too fast... He did all the necessary work and give me all the recommendations for a healthy pregnancy, lets see how the other appointments will go... but for now, it's highly recommended more

This is our first pregnancy and I was referred to Dr. Bills through another doctor. To date, though we have not yet had our baby, our experience has been outstanding. I cannot believe that our actual delivery will be any different. We have also seen Dr. Bashuk and Dr. Hsiao and can say that we would feel comfortable letting any of the 3 deliver our son. They seem to have a diverse set of personalities and it seems there is one to fit each patient they see. I have a very ""detail oriented"" personality and each doctor at this practice has taken all of my questions seriously and has never made me feel uncomfortable or silly about any one of my questions or concerns. When I have called the after hours line my call was returned promptly and the same with any emails that I have sent. I cannot say enough great things about these doctors. I tell everyone about them and if we have another child their office will be the first place we go. Pros: Short wait time, Positive attitudes, I feel like they remember and know who I am each time they see me. Cons: None that we can think of! more

I had been a loyal patient for over 5 years. When I became pregnant with my first child I was confident in having Dr. Bills as my provider. Unfortunately my trust was misplaced. I ended up having an unnecessary c-section by his partner Dr. Hsiao. The office is very interventive with inductions and c-sections. I would advise anyone considering this office for their obstetric care to ask them what their c-section rate is and then do your research. The office now has 3 Doctors with little benefit to the patient. If you go into labor during the weekend none of the doctors at this practice will attend your birth. This practice is getting a ""baby factory"" feel, much like the hospital they deliver out of (Northside). more
