Horrible! 4/8/2011

So I was in an accident a while ago, and Allen's Towing was the company that the police called to tow away all the vehicles involved. First problem: They charge you a cleanup fee to remove car parts and broken glass from the road, (which is understandable, we need clean roads) but if I drive by the scene of the accident, I can still see part of my grill, a hubcap, bug deflector, and other random parts. And the accident was over a month ago! They just threw the parts in the center median! If they are being PAID to clean up after an accident, DO IT! The cost of the tow, cleanup, and the fee to keep it in their lot for two days was about $400. We could have paid the bill to get the vehicle out and part it out (because it wasn't repairable), but we figured we didn't want half a truck in our driveway, so they gave us the option to pay $100 and they would just keep the truck and waive the other fees. So we went with that route. But that's the ONLY thing I like about them. We went back the next day to bring them the title to the truck. Before we left we asked if they had any vehicles for sale, just because I needed a new car to go to school and work. Surprisingly, they had exactly what I was looking for. A 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix SE that was in near mint condition. Only $700! (They can only sell it for the amount of the impound fees) They pulled it out of the snow pile it was in, and tried starting it, but it wouldn't turn over. No big deal, they said they would fix it and get it running. That made me a little happier. I came back a few days later to test drive it. It started up real nice, ran great, and we were about to go for a drive, then it died. Before we were about to drive it, I was talking with one of the kids that works there, and he asked how much his boss was selling it for. So, without question, I told him. No big deal, right? Well, about two minutes after I told him the price, he was on his cell phone and acting kinda suspicious. I ignored it, and went on living my life. He comes back into the story later... I told the boss I was GOING to buy it because I knew what was wrong with it. He was happy, and offered to fix it before I bought it, so that made me quite happy as well. He called me the next day and said it was fixed, and I told him I would stop by the following morning to pick it up. I was excited! At this point, I had dealt with the same guy for about a week, and had seen him multiple times. He knew my name, and knew my face. I went to pick up the car the next morning, and went up to the front desk where I was greeted by him. I told him I was their to pick up my car, and he was utterly confused. He told me that ""I"" already picked up the car. And that's when I got confused. Well, here's where that kid comes back into our story. The boss told my that someone came in that morning and picked up the car, paid for it with cash, and got the title for it. The person who picked it up pretended to be me. This person knew my whole story (about dropping the truck off, the story about me wanting the car, everything) and used my name and got my car. Turns out he was a buddy of the kid I talked to. The kid told him my story, gave him my name, and told him to pretend to be me and get the car. I mean, come on, for only $700 the car was basically a steal. The kid will probably just turn around and sell it to make a few hundred bucks. I was pissed. The boss knew who I was, he knew what I looked like, and should NOT have sold it to this kid. I'm just glad I didn't put a down payment on it. So, in conclusion, unless you ENJOY having problems, don't go here. And if you get in an accident and are in the area, make sure the police call someone else. more

Not a happy customer!!!!! 4/6/2009

This place is terrible. The female clerk was very rude, not understanding at all! The lady didn't even get up from her desk in the back of the room to help us. We called the night before and a nice man told us we could retrieve our valuables from the car the next day. We showed up and the lady didn't even greet us. Very disrespectful and not empathetic at all! She sat on her computer playing games. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody. After a bad accident this is not the way you want to be treated- stay away from this company! Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: Very rude, inconvenient, very difficult to work with more
