I hadn't been to the Lake Country Bistro before, or so I had thought. As we pulled up to the DISTANT restaurant, a large sign bearing the Aliota's name and unicorn (?) was on the building. I hadn't realized it was owned by that family. The service was a little slow, it seemed our server in particular was very busy. The menu was basically a reprint from the family's former Brookfield location, all old school Italian: Spedine, steaks, chops, eggplant parm., etc. Nothing 'Bistro' about it really, relish platter, live (but dying) pianist, sides of pasta or baked potato. The steaks were good, but a little overdone. A decent winelist/prices.
Pros: Inexpensive bar, quaint
Cons: smoky, older menu, slower service
