I have used the Alfred-Waterboro Veterinary services for several years with multiple pets and have always found the Doctor and Staff to be very caring and professional. They take the time to explain whatever the problem is, what the possible solutions are and what the cost options are. I cannot speak to the other reviewers, but can only relate my experiences with the clinic and I would recommend them to anyone who has an animal that needs care. more

Caring staff. Friendly and courteous. Not afraid to answer difficult questions. I would definitely recommend this vet to others. more

This veterinary practice has lost sight of its obligation to heal and care for animals, they have time and time again proved that their only goal was to generate as much profit as possible out of each and every patient visit. Alfred Waterboro Veterinary orders numerous expensive tests making little sense other than to keep the anxious pet owner returning with a hope that this test may answer the question as to their pets ailments. After an especially painful loss of one pet owners friend research showed that tests performed by Alfred Waterboro Veterinary were many times more expensive than other local vets and many charges such as a $4.50 biohazard disposal fee for a single hypodermic syringe were absolutely unheard of with other veterinary practices. Alfred Waterboro Veterinary performs minimal hands on veterinary care favoring more costly testing through IDEXX Labs where relatively inexpensive tests for the veterinarian can create net profits of 100%, 200% and higher after price markup is passed on to the pet owner. A 24 hour stay is grossly overcharged by charging by the day - first day 3PM your animal enters for treatment $25. pickup animal next day at 1PM another $25. thats only 22 hours but owner is charged for two full days.. Total $50. roughly twice the cost of all other local veterinary hospitals. Consumer-Watchdog urges all pet owners using Alfred Waterboro Veterinary as their veterinarian to analyze your bills and check prices of other vets in your area. more
