A house and gallery that was built designed and built by Alden B Dow. He was a student of the Late Great Frank Lloyd Wright and everything in this house screams that fact. From the sunken room that is in a large pond that borders the Dow gardens to the custom train that runs through the rooms. A great Architectural Home. Very Interesting if you like houses. more

Interesting architecture...fun and learning for family 8/18/2005

The Alden B. Dow Home Studio is one of the most interesting pieces of architecture in Midland. It was Alden B. Dow's personal residence and architectural office. If you like Frank Lloyd Wright designs, you'll love this! Alden B. Dow was one of his apprentices. The admission is average: $10 for adults, $5 for students. I would say it is definitely worth the cost. They give public tours on Friday at 10am and 2pm and Saturday at 10am. The staff is so knowledgable...you get a guided tour with lots of history. I try to go at least once a year!!! more
