Great Fusion Food , but i think it's overated! 10/19/2005

Alan Wong's find dining cusine has been voted for the best find dining restaurant in 2005. Alan Wong's is located on the third floor of an office building on South King Street. i think it's kind of hard to find the restaurant. you have to look at the address, not the sign of restaurant. They offers you a great dining experience with unique dishes using fresh local ingredients. The cuisine is a fusion of Asian and modern French cuisine. The presentation and quality of the food is very impressive. I would say Alan Wong's has the best service that i've ever had. Their waiters create a personal atmosphere, whenever they serve your order, they will explain your dishes nicely. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone celebrating a special occasion, anniversary, or birthday. Wondering about the price? Their pirce are extremely expensive. Dinner may cost anywhere from $50 to $100 per person, depending on the wine and your entrees. Last time i went there with my girlfriend and her aunt. it's cost us around $300 (including tips). Last of all, the reason i said it's overated is that i think i'm expecting more from thier 5-stars rated food. of course, the presentation is unbeatable, but I feel like i can find similar tastes at lower price in other fine dining cuisine restaurants. more

Upscale...humm Overrated. Can do better that! 10/19/2005

Someone took me out last night to this upscale, best-restaurant awarded restaurant. The service is good, the restaurant looks as a normal upscale, but not so superb overall. One of their appetizers called something "shooter", although at the first glance, it looks different and pretty in a little skinny glass full of healthy vegetable pieces with juice, first of all, how do you eat that thing? they gave us a little coffee stir straw, but that doesn’t' help much, and I think this kind of upscale restaurant can give more of a designer little folk or spoon to drink this shot! For 3 of us, the bill came out to be almost $300 for 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 desserts and okay, 5 martinis, but hey, still, I didn’t think it was worth of $300! more

Delicious Food 9/9/2005

This is one of the top rated restaurants in Hawaii. Alan Wong makes many local dishes with a lot of vegetables which I like. He is well known in the islands for his Pacific Rim cuisine. This is a superb restaurant that is located away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Thumbs up! more

Best Service I've ever had 8/19/2005

Of all the restaurants that I’ve been to this place has the best service I’ve ever had. They waiters create a personal atmosphere where they call you by name and give you the VIP treatment the entire night. The desserts and meals are excellent. I would highly recommend this place anyone celebrating a special occasion, anniversary, or birthday. more

Asian Fusion! 8/6/2005

Alan Wong's is Asian fusion food and fine dining at its best! Alan Wong is a local boy born and raised here. And his food shows unique mixtures of flavors that you'd never expect. His blends create a cuisine that is well worth a visit. Yes it is pricey, but for that special occasion or anniversary, there's no where better to go! more
