Best Roast Beef PoBoys and I'm form New Orleans! 3/13/2007

How any one can compare AJ's to Pappadeaux's is completely ignorant. I've had Pappadeaux's oysters and they are disgusting. But, if you like sucking down oysters that taste like they have been floating in unflushed toilet water then go for it. I guess if you like Pappadeauxs (which is not Cajun) you also like Copelands (loser). But this is about the Roast Beef PoBoy's at AJ's! The Best, yes THE BEST I have ever had outside of Louisiana. I was born in New Orleans and grew up on poboys, crawfish, crabs and dirty rice and AJ's knows their Roast Beef Poboys. Yes, it has gravy, but get a little extra on the side incase you want it really sloppy! Now Gumbeaux's in Douglasville knows their shrimp poboys, but AJ's kicks when it comes to Roast Beef. “Laissez le bon temp rouler” more

Need to rethink Ignorant Review Authors! 4/26/2006

Any monkey with a keyboard can write a review; just don't believe everything you read, especially the first two reviews that knocked AJ's (whose author's last initials are suspiciously the same). The service at AJ's is almost innovative for Cobb County considering such care & consideration is extinct in the Cobb restaurant scene. AJ's is a great place to sit on the patio and enjoy a serene summer evening with good friends and great scenery. more

AWESOME!!!! 4/18/2006

I have been there many times and have never been disappointed. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is even better. There is such a sense of family there. You feel welcome at all times. The owners try to learn the names of all the customers so when we walk in, they greet us by name. It is comfortable and relaxing. The food is something that Cobb County needed badly. There is no other restaurant like it here. It is a welcome addition and my family looks forward to each visit. Even my seven year old son likes it and he is very picky. A must try for anyone who likes seafood. more

Best Po Boys in marietta 4/16/2006

I wanted to say that Aj's Famous Seafood and Po boys is one of the best restaurants in Marietta. It is a casual atmosphere where everyone makes you feel at home. The food is amazing and the staff is out of this world. There is nothing the staff won't do to make sure you have a wonderful experience. The food is fresh and I love trying there specials. You must try this place! more

Not really "World Famous"... 10/5/2005

AJ's Famous Seafood and Poboys is a pretty new restaurant. I was intrigued so I went with my family to try thier "world famous poboys," but we were pretty disappointed. The fried seafood in the poboys really didnt' have much flavor, but I guess the sauce you choose is supposed to give it the flavor. This is okay I guess, but usually when you think poboy, you think cajun and cajun's flavor thier food's well so... I dunno about AJ's. The only redeeming grace is that thier fries are homemade, i think, and in any case they taste good. If you wanna poboy though, I'd go to Pappadeux and split their $12 poboys. It may be expensive but it's good. more

Need to rethink that "Famous" part in their name 8/24/2005

I tried this place when it first opened up, and it's fairly new (7/05). Their "famous" seafood and poboys is really nothing much. The batter they use on their fried seafood, including in the poboy, doesn't really have a cajun flavor. They give you a choice of 5 sauces to flavor it, but it's not the same. They do have a tempting weekday offer w/ $1 appetizers, but they are really nothign special. Plus they don't include the oyster appetizer as a $1 selection. Their fried cheese grits are pretty good as is their gator taco. Their fries are homemade and tasty too. But if you want a poboy, go to Pappadeux and split one w/ a friend, because their's is 2x as big as AJ's. Give AJ's a shot on their $1 deal tho, Mon-Thurs 2-5pm. more
