What a place! I've found a second home in Nippon Kan. The students are very friendly and helpful and the instructors are very knowedgeable. Homma Kancho, as the founder of the school, brings so much knowledge and experience to Denver and the school and it really shines through the student body. The focus of the learning is not about winning, beating the other guy, but instead working together with them to resolve problems. Instead of focusing on perpetuating conflict, the students help teach each other to value diversity and learn from each other to unite in a single cause.\r

This place is also the home to the Aikido Humanitarian Active Network. This organization benefits the Denver area by feeding the homeless and partnering with the City of Denver to maintain parks, as well as sponsoring programs around the world! Supporting orphanages, providing computers to schools, and raising money for children's cancer research are just a few of the activities they have engaged in.\r

If you want to learn a martial art, AND meet some great people, AND help take care of the world, this is the place to do it!
Pros: Traditional setting, friendly people, well established
Cons: Can't think of any!
