This place has a lot of very interesting African American art from different time periods. This place was a bit hard to find, but once I figured it out, I enjoyed it. They have pieces from all different centuries. They have a specific section dedicated to miniature figures which was quite interesting. One thing I didn't like was it's a bit small for a museum and so everything seemed cramped up. more

African Amrican Museum 7/22/2005

Since 1974, this has been the only place in the Southwest dedicated to the preservation and display of African-American art, history and culture. Four vaulted galleries display collections ranging from African art to African-American fine art. One of the main draws is the Folk Art collection and the work of Billy R. Allen. The second floor's historical archives consist of culturally significant documents, books and photographs. more
