I am very happy with my experience at the Advanced Dental. Dr. Talis is my dentist there. My appointments are always painless and easy. She seem to really care about her patients. I had a lot of little ""almost cavities"" and she gave me a prescription for a special toothpaste, so ""almost cavities"" do not turn into actual cavities. So far it worked! more

Scammers!!!! 2/8/2013

Worst experience ever. I work in the insurance business so I understand how things work. I had the advanced dental call to okay the procedures with my dental insurance carrier. They provided me with a pre service itemized bill. After the procedures were complete they over charged me for teeth they didn't even work on. Good thing I asked for an itemized bill afterwards. I agreed to just credit my account because I needed more work done. Then I get a bill in the mail. When I call to ask why I have a bill they say that my insurance doesn't cover white filings and only silver. They told me this was my problem and they will not give me my credit amount back? Funny thing was when I call they always are rude to me and just try to get you off the phone. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I really don't know how they stay in business. Who puts upgrades in your mouth and does give you an option and bills you for it. Scammers big time beware!!!!!! more

Thank you Dr. Talis! 3/3/2012

I really like to thank Dr.Talis for giving me back the confidence to smile again. I couldn't smile like I used to, which was really frustrating and embarrassing for me. When I got to Advanced Dental Center and the people there explained what type of treatment I will receive, I was excited and happy at the prospect of smiling again.I was treated with respect and courtesy at all times. My treatment went just as it was planned. It was easy and painless with superb results! I would highly recommend this office and specifically Dr. Talis! Now my family members are patients there as well. more

happy patient 2/1/2012

Let me start out by saying that I HAVE A FEAR OF DENTIST. So when I scheduled my appointment for a tooth ache with advanced dental It wasnt easy. When I arrived for my appointment I was in a bad mood, and scared not a good combination. Despite my bad attitude the receptionist was very kind and understanding and assured me that I was in good care. Following this I was taken back to be seen by the doctor. The nurse lady took me to a room and asked me a few questions, at this point I was trembling with fear, the doctor came in just a few minutes later, and started my check up. He then determined that the tooth that had been causing me pain, did not need to be pulled but could be saved. This in itself reassured me and brightened my mood a little. I had a billion questions about the procedure that was needed and the doctor was extremely helpful and patient with me. When leaving the office the check out girl worked with my schedule to find a time that was good for me for my next appointment, and once again reassured me that I was in good hands. I left the place in a much better mood than the one I had when I first got there. I recommend Advanced dental to anyone. It was easy and everyone was kind to me. more

What a scam!! 1/10/2012

My uncle, who is an elderly gentleman and is a foreigner to the US, went to see Dr. Talis for general exam and cleaning. After being x-rayed and examined he was given a huge list of procedures that needed to be done to his teeth. He paid for the exam and did not schedule any further appointment (at least to his knowledge). A couple of weeks later, the office manager called to remind him of his appointment--he said what appointment? The woman told him that he had a scheduled appointment to have 1 of his teeth cleaned (deep perio cleaning.) Even though he was confused by this, he went to the appointment. The hygenist put him in the chair and began working. After over 1 hour my uncle asked why it was taking so long and why was is it so painful. And the practictioner said ""oh well I went ahead and did two teeth instead of just the one."" My uncle was upset and in pain, and then when he went to check out--of course they wanted to charge him for the extra tooth. He paid for the one tooth that they were supposedly cleaning, but refused to pay for the other since he was not even asked if he wanted it done, nor did he agree to it. Since then (now 6 months later). They refuse to talk to him, have sent him to collections for not paying for the other tooth. Which they tried to overcharge the insurance company for and they adjusted the price after he complained. On top of that, he developed infection in both teeth that they supposedly cleaned and had to have them both extracted!!! I can't believe we are still in the process of haggling over $150 collections for a tooth that had to be extracted by another dentist--after they supposedly cleaned it without permission. more

Questionable Judgement 8/12/2011

Please read about my experience before seeing Dr. Talis, or returning to Advanced Dental Care to have any work done. A couple of months ago I made an appointment at Advanced Dental Care to have my first check-up in almost two years;naturally, I was a little concerned about what I would hear from the Doctor, but I have only had one cavity, so I figured it couldn't be that bad. When I first arrived, I was really excited about having my teeth cleaned and even more excited about getting the visit out of the way. I went into the back with a (not friendly) practitioner who took my x-rays, left, and returned with Dr. Talis. While she was reviewing my X-Rays, she began questioning me about my eating and drinking habits: do you smoke? do you drink coke? do you eat a lot of sweets? I responded ""no"" to all of her questions to which she again asked, ""and you don't drink any coke?"" She then explained to me that I have ""a lot of cavities"" - About thirteen, ten of which needed fillings. I was then led back to the registration area where I was asked to check out in the waiting room, because the receptionist was over at that particular window. (My teeth cleaning? Apparently you have to make a separate appointment for that.) And then myself and the receptionist proceeded to make my appointments for my various fillings in front of a room full of people. I left dumbfounded, and after a day of shock, decided to make an appointment for a second opinion. I did call Advanced Dental Care twice, prior to going to see Second Opinion, but discovered upon arriving, that my records had never been transferred... ...anyway, a (friendlier) practitioner took me into the back where she cleaned my teach before the dentist came back. Upon poking around in my mouth, the doctor told me that she didn't see anything but couldn't be positive until she saw X-Rays. I was promised that I would get a phone call once she received them and was able to review them. The next day, I called Advanced Dental Care for the third time to have my records transferred, including Dr. Talis' diagnosis. Almost two weeks later, after never receiving a phone call from Second Opinion, I looked into it and discovered that the records still hadn't come in. At this point, I was suspicious as to why, after three phone calls, my records still hadn't been transferred. Success came after the fourth call. A week later Second Opinion called me to deliver the bad news: I had ONE cavity. I was in even more shock when I got to Second Opinion to have my filling done, and she decided that she was going to take an X-Ray of her own. Surprise. No cavities. From 10 to 0. Second Opinion explained that Dr. Talis used electronic X-Rays, which tend to blow things up bigger than they really are. She explained to me that she uses electronic X-Rays when working with certain patients, and that she has to be careful when reviewing them since they allow you to see every little crevice. ""Really,"" she said ""it just comes down to judgement."" more
