This is a cute restaurant with a great atmosphere, and eating with your hands is definitely an experience worth trying. However, the praise ends there. After visiting ""Dahlak"" in Philadelphia, I fell in love with Ethiopian. Dahlak's food was to die for. I had high expectations for Addis, but was disappointed. The bread was tasteless/soggy, and portions were small. The staff was nice, but inattentive. I went for a late dinner, and they were SO SLOW that I had to get up and walk to the front twice to ask for something. Their no-refill sodas are $1.50, and their selection is limited. The food wasn't that great, and was certainly nothing compared to Dahlak. Maybe if you've never had ethiopian, this will be a treat for you, but if you're expecting great ethiopian, you will be disappointed. My advice: if you're ever in Philly, make sure you go to Dahlak.
Pros: ambience, inexpensive
Cons: mediocre food, slow service, small selection
