Best

Pickup ready on time. Had veg-meat combo: inqoudai, gomen, and spicy doro tibs. Everything was excellent. Injera was perfectly moist and fluffy.

First encounter with Ethiopian food 6/9/2010

This was my first encounter with Ethiopian food, so I'm not sure if I have much to judge it by, but I really enjoyed dinner here. The waitress was very sweet, and even taught us how to use the bread to grab our food. Definitely order one of the combos - I got the fish and veggie combo, with Fresh sauteed mushrooms and yellow split peas seasoned in vegetable oil with garlic and ginger, Spinach cooked with onions, garlic and cardamom, and tilapia cut in cubes and sautéed in Ethiopian herb butter, seasoned with garlic, black pepper and lemon pepper. The Injera bread was very tasty, soft and tasted like a spongy sourdough. Pros: Sweet waitress, Injera bread, Yummy food, Cute windows, more

Worst Ethiopian Restaurant in Chicago and USA 10/10/2008

I have eaten at ethiopian restaurants globally and this is not a good ethiopian restaurant. I will start with the positive. They do have one of the best sambusas I have had and I recommend you try this and go somewhere else for dinner. The bread that is supposed to be soft ad spongy is hard and stale. I was very annoyed that they thought that people in Evanston were not cultured enough to know that the bread isn't supposed to be stale. The bread has to be made freshly everyday or it will smell and it will get hard. The food was greasy and tasteless. My husband and I have tried every single ethiopian restaurant in chicago and we would not recommend this place to anyone. The food just doesn't tast fresh as it always should. The staff are not very helpful. Another couple that was behind us in line left because the people were ignoring us for 15 minutes. We stood there trying to get the staff to stop and talk to us but they just walked by. We made reservations and we still had to wait. To top it all off, the price you pay for this food is not worth it. Compared to other types of cuisines, it is not expensive but compared to other ethiopian restaurants it is expensive for nothing in return. I highly encourage you to explore other Ethiopian restaurants in chicago. Some have music on Saturday night and have much better food for less cost. I ordered the vegetarian combo and my husband ordered a beef dish and we love it everywhere else except here. They should be ashamed of themselves for trying to sell the people of Evanston short. Pros: Location, parking Cons: bad food, bad service, difficult to park, expensive more
