If you're meeting someone on Franklin, but you have some free time, you can visit the Ackland Art Museum. It's a small art museum but it is very interesting and the exhibits change every few months. it is next to university's Hanes Art Center which also has small exhibits as you walk down the hallway too. more

Ackland art museum is a staple part of UNC and Chapel Hill. They always have interesting exhibits up which cater to a wide variety of people. Even if you aren't really into artwork, there might be something there which interests you. Admission is often free, so it's nice to just wander in and look around. more

Small and trendy 3/28/2006

This small and trendy museum is located on South Columbia, near the intersection of Franklin Street in lovely downtown Chapel Hill. The museum changes its exhibits often, but each exhibit is awesome and awe inspiring. Check them out online at www.ackland.org or give them a call at 919-966-5736. The museum is a part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. more

The Ackland Art Museum is part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The museum boasts travelling exhibits and art from Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
