I bought my curio cabinet in November 1989 while on military active duty stationed overseas. It was the first piece of furniture I ever purchased. I bought it to showcase my growing shot glass collection. This cabinet has travelled with me to 5 stateside and 3 overseas locations. Throughout all its travels over the past 20 years, it has never been broken, chipped, cracked, marred or scratched. It seemed practically invincible. Then, in a local move by Ace Relocation Systems, totaling 5 miles distance and 10 minutes travel time, my cabinet’s crown molding gets broken and the back wall mirror is shattered. As the Ace Relocations movers pulled back the loosely draped blanket, the damage was immediately apparent. Oddly enough, as the movers were taking the cabinet out to be put on the truck, I mentioned to them how long I had had my curio, recounted its travels overseas and stateside and asked them to please be very careful. One of the movers commented on the cabinet’s longevity and stated that they do a lot of moves for the military. I thought my cabinet was in good hands. As it turns out, my cabinet was not adequately and properly cushioned, protected and positioned. There is no way this sturdy, long standing curio could withstand years of travel to and from multiple locations abroad and stateside, never get damaged or broken, then sustain extensive damage in such a short local move. Sufficient packing and secured tethering would have prevented any damage from occurring. No materials, short of a draped blanket, were used to protect the cabinet or any of my moved possessions. I am very grateful nothing else was damaged or broken. The damaged cabinet was noted on the bill of lading, but there was a big issue about what I owed for the move (payment was to commence upon completion of the move). Ace tried to charge me more than the cost of the move, requiring to be made just to settle the issue. Then, in trying to resolve my claim for the broken cabinet, I got the runaround by multiple levels of management. I will NEVER use this company again. \r
