Acclaimed Movers

When I say Gentlemen, I literally mean they were gentle with my stuff. Moving with or without children is typically something people loathe. I was especially procrastinating moving with my 3 year old, I knew it was going to be an ordeal. Looked around for some companies, on the one site I truly trust for my reviews CitySearch, ended up going with Acclaimed. What a Godsend these guys have been, I really thought it was going to be so much worse than they made it end up coming out. The staff was great, especially Danny, I guess for some reason he just happened to have some candy in his car that day and gave it to my 3 year old which kept him at bay for a good portion of the time. They were speedy and did a great job handling my stuff. I couldn't even begin to say just how careful they appeared to be. They even seemed to know the best routes (speediest while also less bumpy), and for the first time in the history of me moving, I not only felt safe about my stuff during the move, but saw that I was right feeling safe after unpacking everything. These guys did a fantastic job and all I can say is I am no keeping there magnet on my Fridge in case I ever have to move anything heavy every again. I believe they service the entire California area, so if you need to move, go with them, you won't regret, and even though that's for sure, you'll also be quite glad you followed a good review. Recently moved to NoHo, the artsiest city of all, I was going to hire starving students, but they did a horrible job last time. Anyway, these guys were quick and polite, my stuff was completely unharmed too. more

I live on a street in Echo Park that upwards on a slanted hill, it's really tricky to get up there even for some older model SUV's let alone a truck, but the driver of this truck was really good at what he did. Glad me and my mom called Acclaimed movers and storage. more

In return for doing a great job on my move, I thought I'de leave a positive review, not that I need to, word seems to be quickly spreading about these guys, and as I see theres quite a few great reviews for their many separate branches. What's there to say, they do a great job, are professional, and careful with my stuff, which if you think about it is the most important thing. more

First off I don't believe one could find a more inept and poorly managed group than Acclaimed Movers. That being said, they do have some staff who are worthy of praise. Donnie, their lead man, is organized and takes his job seriously. As for Jamie, the sales person, here is man who needs to look up "customer Service" in the sales manual. A.) he will tell you "... I will get right back to you" Don't count on hearing him unless you hound him four or five more times. B.) He will say and promise anything to get you off his back --- and NEVER deliver on those statements. We counted 87 phone calls that were never returned. C.) We learned that Acclaimed is very good at "Upcharges" i.e. boxes, paper, tape etc. but the big BIG one is the TOTAL WEIGHT ESTIMATE of your household goods. They will lowball the estimate and get you for huge upcharge for over that weight. Good luck trying to pin them down on this.... Again, Jamie is the master of this. Also, they sub contract the delivery trucks ( hire another company ) for long distance moves. We found this out by mistake --- and the guy that told us that was fired. So, you have packed all your stuff and the day of the move comes right? The crew shows up and one of the "packers/movers" is tweeked out of his mind -- a fact that the lead man admits too -- instead of replacing him, they promise to keep him in the truck. When our stuff arrives, there is stuff missing, broken glass, etc.. The response from Jamie is so pat and quick that my guess is they do this all the time " Well, we are sorry" he says, " Monday morning first thing, we will file a claim." SO now I know why they are called ACCLAIMED MOVERS -- because everyone Files A - CLAIM !!!! Guess how much your stuff is worth on a claim ??? Forty cents on the pound for each damaged piece. Thats right ---. .40 cents -- so you have an heirloom that is worth $3000. and it weighs, three pounds ---- you get a whooping $1.20 !!!! In the long run, moving is stressful and difficult enough, you would hope your movers would help curtail some of that --- not only does Acclaimed Movers contribute to your stress they promise to be the biggest part of it.!!!! This is a company who is short of customer service but long on getting the fast buck. Look elsewhere -- but at all costs -- literally, Do NOT use AAclaimed Movers if you treasure your valuables. more

I guess that's how I'll start off my review of Acclaimed movers. Seriously CitySearch, what happened? But anyway, you're still trusted just by a much smaller audience and thats exactly why I decided to come here to give my detailed account of how Acclaimed helped me do my moving in a small unobtrusive way and for a decent price. Well done job Acclaimed Movers, I'm considering suggesting that my nephew apply at your offices because you are clearly a business run right. more

These movers are great. Where to begin. Everything, and I do mean everything went incredibly smooth. They seem to be a small moving company compared to others, but they work significantly harder than others I've ordered to handle your stuff with care and get the job done quick. Moving companies are only called upon once in a while. I give all my recommendation to them. A friend of mine recommended these guys to me. They were over-all quite fantastic. Seemingly small enough to be personal, but with a highly professional touch. There trucks are certainly the nicest moving trucks I've ever seen. The website didn't disappoint either, had to check out before I took my friends word on it. They moved everything smoothly. My past two experiences left me on edge, I had to watch every item being carried frightened for its well-being. These guys did 4 or 5 things and I saw that I could leave them unsupervised. When you call them, their office staff is quite professional as well. Check these guys out if you are anywhere in California. more

The company refused to give us our customer copy of the credit card receipt. We have followed up with 6 phone calls asking for an invoice to be sent with no avail. I kept getting the promises that it will be done the next day. When I asked to speak with a boss or supervisor, they were allegedly not in the office. This has been a corporate move and a paid invoice is required. Plus they charged us @ an extra $500 over the estimate. When I received the quote from Jaime, he told me that the moving truck was filled to max capacity & that we were going to have to move the king bed on the back of the truck. I was instructed to call the office with any changes to the quote. I called Jaime to tell him that we were going to have a change. We would not be bringing a refrigerator & instead we would be bringing a Craftsman tool box of similar size & weight. Jaime told me not to worry @ it. That was the only change, so the estimate is what we should have been charged. Without permission, the movers turned on our air conditioning when they were moving, while all of the doors were open. They also had suspicious behavior like carrying an air freshener spray inside, which I suspected they used to mask smoking in our house. They did not supply enough wardrobe boxes & our clothes were delivered in boxes that were substandard & did not properly care for our expensive suits & gowns. I was told that the movers would reassemble all of the furniture, yet they didn't reassemble a king bed & crib. The movers did not move a big plant pot that they were reminded @ several times. They had moved the big plant pot next to the moving van & then they tried to hide it by moving it to the side of the house. Frankly, I was terrified of the lead mover on the offload of the trip. He looked like a gangster thug. more

Acclaimed Movers and Storage are the absolute BEST!!! They honored all their promises, showed up on time. kept great communication with me...just the whole package. The labor crew were the best ive ever seen. Caring, hard working and curtious. They made moving my four bedroom house look like a walk in the park. Just professionals in every department with this company. A class...the BEST in town....call Acclaimed for your next move! more

Id have to give this company a border line 5 stars maybe 4 and a half. I used Acclaimed for my cross country move out of CA over to NY. Acclaimed stole my business from another much cheaper company. The sales girl Rosie was very very good. She knew everything I was talking about and was able to answer all of my questions. When I asked why Acclaimed was so much more expensive she replied because they are so much better! haha I thought. But I like her confidence and when the representative came out to give me a quote on my move he had more of the same stern confident attitude that this was going to be one of my best moves ever....SO i went with Acclaimed. The crew was truly just as excellent as the office made them sound. Everything I could want in a group of men moving my stuff these guys had. But most of all was their charm...they were very very very professional and had outstanding character on the job. Caring would be the word im looking for, very caring polite guys. So everything went absolutely smooth except for in New York..,what do you know...I had one leather chair missing....So after bringing this mistake to the Acclaimed office they promised me a swift action on getting my chair to me free of chrage...it was a little bit of a headache but lo and behold just a little over a week later I got my chair....free of charge and totally damage free.....now thats some service......shouldnt have missed it in the first place but these guys were absolutely PROS in everything they did.....in a nutshell...Acclaimed Movers really did provide me with my best move ever. more

The greatest moving experience I have ever had without a doubt in my mind....fast movers, polite, careful....all very tidy and uniformed. Not only were the actual labor crew very efficient but the sales girls were extremely informative and were able to answer all of my questions. Not only that but they were very firm on their prices and made me feel like I would be making a mistake if I didn't go with them. Very confident and they delivered some of the best service i have ever had. more

I love these guys from Acclaimed Movers, not just because they remind me of all my childhood buddies, but because they gave me some serious luxury service. From the very first phone call I made to them I had a great feeling they would kick some serious arse. The guys were right on time, uniformed, all spoke English, all great mannered, introduced themselves right away. They got right into work the second I finished signing the contract and I mean it was like someone shot a gun in the air to start the race. Not only extremely hard working but very careful to. Acclaimed Movers staff promised me the best move at a reasonably higher price and they blew my expectations out of the water. Ive used a hand full of moving companies in the past so I know the whole song and dance to the moving industry. But Acclaimed did not try anything of the sort from the get go. They were fast and careful, they took minimum brakes, they were very polite and addressed me as sir. They cleaned up all their trash when the move was over and then took a walk with me around the house to check for scratches and marks when the job was over, that's how confident they were that they did a good job. Definitely real pros who I will be using from now on. more

Acclaimed Movers were very nice guys, and they really did a great job working. The things I liked most about them were how they were on time, very nice and kept great contact with me. They did not delay the start time but were very prompt to start working. They took a few 5 or 10 minute brakes over the course of a 9 hour work day. SO needless to say they were very hard working. I did not watch them like a hawk but I did make an effort to watch them when they didnt know I was working and nothing at all seemed to change in their work ethic. The final bill was more then estimated but I can understand this being I only got a quote over the phone. They still came very close to the estimated time and even more importantly nothing was found damaged. Acclaimed delivered true luxury service for me, not having to lift a finger! more

These man were quite the energetic bunch that showed up to my pent house in Beverly Hills. They were all friendly chaps who introduced themselves one after another. I informed them of what I wanted packaged and what was good to go and they all got down to work. I learned a few things watching these guys, little tricks of the trade that movers try to keep secret Im sure. When we got to my new beautiful house in Camarillo the unloading of the truck went just as quickly and efficiently, and the whole time these chaps kept very cool and collected while lifting my huge furniture pieces. I had no problem tipping these blokes and I plan on using them in the future, good job mates! more

These guys were actually Americans. I was shocked and awed by how much better they were then all these other scum bag companies out there. The ONLY moving company I will consider using ever again. more

I needed Acclaimed for a long distance move from CA to my new home in CO. Stress free is what I wanted and stress free is what they delivered. The people in the office stayed in contact with me the month my things were in their storage. They called me the day it was loaded, when it was hours away from my new home and then when they had left they office called me one more time to see how everything went. Great service, great people and I am one satisfied customer. more
