The Best Mexican Restaurant in West 2/12/2012

This is the Best Mexican food in the West And we know good food.My family and I have gone to no less then 500 different Mexican Restaurant all over the West from Texas to Washington and all the states in-between. Also on the East Coast, Gemany and Autrailia. But they don't really count as there use catsup for hot sauce!! more

THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD AROUND 12/22/2007

I have been eating here since I was 5, 42 years ago, Modesto was alive back then and always gave us big sticks of gum. I started my kids when they were still in carriers, and now they are grown and bring their friends. WE LOVE THIS PLACE, I am never happy with any other mexican restaurant. They treat you like family and it feels like home. Cheese enchaladas are fabulous, love the chips and salsa as well, but the hot hot sauce is my favorite. or don't forgert the tortillas and they always give you ample butter to slather all over them. Pros: Always hot and fresh Cons: small parking lot more

Mexican cuisine that isn't authenic south of the border fare, but excellent none the less. 3/30/2007

Authentic Mexican food like you'll find south of the border it isn't. But I have been going there since 1954 and I love it. The portions and flavor has not changed in 50 years. But those who return do so for a very good reason. more

Worse than taco bell. They dont' even have carnitas. The freshest thing they have is the lettuce, which they do give you a lot of. It's cheap and popular w/ some crowds. i wish it had more flavor. Wine-ritas help make things taste better. Cons: no carnitas or flavor more

Slightly better than Taco Bell 11/21/2006

The food is your very average Mexican fair. The service is fine and and the atmosphere is nice. There are definately better Mexican restaurants in the area, but if all of the good places are full then Alcapulco will do. more

Excellent flavor 11/6/2005

This restaurant has been in business for more than a half century...they're doing something right! The chips and salsa is to die for and the serving is unlimited, the main courses are excellent, the chef uses traditional flavors and the plate shows up to your table bubbling! Everytime I go, I have the cheese enchilada dinner and I am never dissatisfied with the taste. Prices are reasonable and I can't emphasize how good the food is! Especially the guacamole! If you have a healthy appetite, this is the place for you. Pros: Great tasting food, Unlimited chips/salsa, Old Mexico Smell Cons: small parking lot, no liquor license more

Lots 3/12/2005

Huge, traditionally-styled Mexican dishes are served at this Alameda monument. Value here is absolutely unparalleled. Bean dip is very good. Not the best mexican food, though; but you get much for your money. Pros: Value more

Cha, cha, cha! 2/1/2003

Although the restaurant is rather small (especially the bar area) seating moves quickly due to the style of food served. Hot, and well prepared. Pros: Food, Beverages Cons: Small, Crowded more
